Squad decision logic is also improved. When a squad gets a new objective they use the interest map + rough distance to destination. If its going to be a long walk with low danger they elect a unit to lead. The leader does the path-finding. Everyone else only follows the leader.
But now this rarely occurs. And ambient CPU usage has gone from 400% to 80%.
So what was done? NPC's now use "interest maps" that give them a fuzzy overview of nearby enemy presence. So during normal patrol they naturally get closer to future combat areas and contested borders.
Path-finding for NPCs was the most expensive computation on the server-side. It still is! Some NPC processes would fall behind searching for routes. And when they caught up, the route was for something no longer relevant. It was old news.
So how was this improved?

We've added some new undead mobs to the game! While they may not hit hard, zombies can be deadly in groups. Avoid staying in one place for too long. Mobs part of the same faction can now hone in on your position if you cause enough HEAT.

There will be some changes in the future where any entity within the proximity of a battle will be pulled into it and added as a participant. Maybe some dice-roll on a stealth stat that dictates the range for a given entity.

Where Winds Meet is very impressive from what I saw. I haven't played it. I saw lots of inspiration from FFXIV and Souls game in the mechanics. The execution is high quality. But does too many cooks spoil the dish? Is it trying too much at once?

Watched Escape from New York. Overall I enjoyed it. The atmosphere, setting, and concept are great. But I can't say the movie holds up too well. There should've been more action and zaniness. I gained more respect for the movie after I learned it was made on a low budget.

They should ship me out to some remote area to do menial labor during a slump. I can chop wood, cook, clean, whatever you need. Pay me some meager daily wage for my efforts. I just need something to do while I think about abstract problems...
its actually easy to track. During slumps the weekly screen usage jumps to > 5hr/day. And on good weeks it falls to < 3hr/day.
I was doing well but now I've hit a slump. Energy, motivation and discipline are low. I don't know why it happens. Its cyclical. Nothing to do but let this pass. Is there a pattern to my behavior? I could try to track it scientifically but I avoid it out of what I might learn..
