Do anyone have a good, comphrensive English list of dynasties and kingdoms for China and Korea? Even really small and obsure ones like ไธญๅฝใปๆธคๆตท or ไธญๅฝใปๅฅไธน? I want a reliable source for vertfication purposes.
Thank you in advance!

When I joined Bluesky last year, alt-text was new to me, and it seemed tedious, and kind of scolding.
Since then, I feel it as an act of kindness, care, and inclusion, and itโs become automatic to include descriptions on every image.
I hope it becomes like 2nd nature for you too.
It feels good.

Four images side by side. The first is a photo of a cream tabby named Fox who is making a one-brain-cell face with his eyes wide and mouth hanging open. The second is a medieval Japanese handwritten document with black calligraphy on dark gray recycled paper. The third is a tortie cat named Rigatoni, gazing sadly at the viewer from her Trash Jail (a black mesh trash can turned upside on top of her because she is a naughty demon child). The fourth is an early modern painting of several Japanese metal casters in various states of sweaty dress pouring hot metal into a mold.
Hello new Bsky folks! If you've just followed, I'm a historian of medieval Japan working on metal caster networks and documentary forgery. I manage @jppinfo.bsky.social, which helps facilitate greater equity and inclusion in the the Japanese humanities. I also do East Asia + DH and post cat chaos. ๐พ

Bad news: I wrote to the Museum of Maritime Pets in Maine to ask how cat poops and pee were handled on ships before litter was invented. They didn't know! But they're very curious, too, and want me to keep them updated. We can all make educated guesses but I want to see what actual records say.

Happy #ToriiTuesday! Today's #torii are CONCRETE. Specifically, ferroconcrete! โฉ๏ธ๐ข
It might not be flashy, but at one point it was a symbol of Shinto modernity!
(Sadly this concrete giant at Hakozakigลซ ็ญฅๅดๅฎฎ in Fukuoka, built in 1930, was demolished in 2018.) ๐งต #AsianStudies
