City in the clouds this morning
#ilwx
Iβm declaring the city of Chicago under a rainbow watch, none spotted yet but conditions are ripe
It just a pillar, then a smudge, then it was gone, but it was there. Category 1 Rainbow π
A line of very low clouds, plus long shadows from tall buildings, over Lake Michigan in Chicago.
Looking good, Lake Michigan.
That's like one time I flew MEM-ORD and overflew Canada
Yeah they were great
And a quick (and free) ferry back to Centraal to round out the tour
Can't forget the cats
Even stopped at a local farm for fresh cheese and barnyard animals!
The last time I did a AMS bike tour we just stayed in the city. This time we got out into the countryside a little bit, and made our way through some of the "suburbs".
Didn't cancel and the weather turned out pretty nice!
I was promised bike lanes. Where are the Dutch Bike Lanes?! π·π²π³π±
Can I add a last minute vote? Cause A.
Soupy ππ²π₯«
Definitely one of the most interesting barista art I've seen.
Layer in the month I will be!
Just booked a tour for my layover tomorrow, which means we'll either cancel or the weather is going to be crap.
A photo of the Chicago skyline viewed from the north across a stretch of open blue water. The skyline is silhouetted against a light pastel sunrise sky
A wintry photo of the Chicago River surrounded by the dense downtown cityscape. There's an elevated train crossing a bridge in the foreground
A photo looking along elevated train tracks towards the distant Sears Tower under a bright blue sky
A photo of the Chicago skyline from the south taken from a park full of yellow winter grasses
Happy birthday Chicago!
"Come and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud to be alive and coarse and strong and cunning."
Will it be locked Labor Day till Memorial Day too?

Street sign from the dividing line between bigotry and humanity, Showing Crawford Avenue one way, and Pulaski Road in the other.
In the suburbs, itβs still Crawford Day, the fucking bigots.
Street signs in Chicago: N Pulaski RD Honorary Casimir Pulaski Way Footer: OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR
The first Monday in March is when Illinois and Chicago observe Pulaski Day, for the Polish founder of the US Cavalry. He came here to fight the Brits in the Revolutionary War. Whatβs not to like?
Yes for sure, the Mountains on the Labrador coast look really cool, the few times we can actually see them haha.

Oh Iβve probably flown over this! Not today at least, we were about 100 or so miles north of here. That part of Canada is SUPER remote.
Quick snaps from my AMS layover, including dinner at a surenese πΈπ· restaurant located in a metro station
False spring is that you?
ORD constellation gorgeous as usual
Yo @kenjennings.bsky.social, I spotted an error on today's show (in the double Jeopardy section). The video clue showed an aileron roll but the answer given was a barrel roll!
