This has made me very sad.
Jock was there a decade ago when 2 year-old Nina and I first went to Bristol Zoo, and down the years became our much-loved favourite: a gentle titan of a creature who we absolutely adored.

I did not know this. This is magnificent
This is wonderful
Not the whisky though. Canada makes very good whisky. And icewine.
Dammit, I'll throw out all the Justin Bieber CDs I own instead.

Never mind jobs you had, tell me five classes you took at university
1. Melody as Ritual (Gregorian Chant)
2. Mongolian throat singing
3. Fugue
4. Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov

I'm in a very weird shop in Cardiff whose entire USP seems to be "what if Flying Tiger was a bit posh".
(It has so many notions they're playing Vivaldi - but not The Four Seasons, they're playing L'Estro Armonico. I appreciate this is niche but it is on point)

I felt the same about James Vince near the end of his Test career. He would get about 25 with at least three shots that would physically make me weak and slightly dizzy then he'd get bored and/or distracted by a wasp and nick off.
(What a player though. I could watch him make 25 like that forever)
I'm gutted by Robin Smith's death. As a cricket-loving kid in Hampshire, he was my hero. A gentle, warm, man who was scintillating to watch - yet treated terribly. And who went through the wringer of self-doubt on and off the pitch.
Farewell Judge. You were, simply, brilliant. I'll miss you.

Whatβs everybodyβs preferred proximity to the madding crowd? I usually like to be far from it.
Correction: it's REALLY REALLY excellent

David Matthews' first Violin Concerto is quite good.
That's it, that's the discourse you're following, live with it.
I saw them at a festival a few years smugly prepared to hate them because of their stupid divvy name and I was really quite annoyed they were actually excellent
Bob around to one of his scherzos and you can probably do both at the same time
For now though, aged 45, I just feel like I could listen to Dvorak forever.
What an absolute composer he is.
