They are a bit unsettling.
@lizardmobile
I make quilts, read books, garden, drink coffee, watch birds, snuggle my cats, and bake/eat cake. I do my best to be kind. I don't put up with people who are awful. I drive a Lizardmobile. IRL I am Amy Wilson. Hoping my FB friends find me here.
They are a bit unsettling.
I saw water striders, a moth, and some kind of sharpshooter. Spring is coming!
That is super weird! My Google-fu can't crack it. Some kind of embroidery machine?
A photo of a field in late winter, with brown grasses and medium sized evergreens. The time of day is evening, with the sun setting on the horizon. (There is no American Woodcock in this photo, though.)
This evening I was thrilled to participate in a "Woodcock Watch." A small group of humans waited quietly at the edge of a field and watched and listed as a male American Woodcock called and danced and chased away rivals. Alas, no lady bird arrived. But we humans were excited!
I will miss you, friend. I understand. Be safe and be well. <3
Four quilt blocks in blue, green, gold, and coral-orange colors. The pattern is a framed star with a white background. The effect is very scrappy.
A photo of a paint-spattered craft table with stacks of quilt block pieces and the printed pattern booklet
New quilt project underway! The pattern is "cozy cabin" by Morgan McCollough. Fabrics include Kona cotton solids and prints from Benartex and Free Spirit. I'm making the throw size, so there will be 16 of these 4-block units.
It's because they know that whenever they DO something, voters hate it. The least offensive thing they can manage is inaction.
I feed them pretty much every day, sometimes more than once. I caw to them and talk to them and generally act like a fool.
They've started making a nest, I think, based on watching them gather materials. I'm hoping to figure out where it is so I can observe it with my binoculars, if possible.
The only good conversation I have had with my dad in probably a decade has been in a dream. I'm working on accepting that I'm better off not seeking his love. He's just not able to give it any more.
This is a terrible video of "my" crows. I went out in the woods with a pocket of peanuts for them. I cawed and they came flying out of the woods and perched in this tree. Then they both did this head-bowing and clicking behavior. I think it means they like me? #crow #corvid
A turtle looks at the human taking his picture. He's definitely smiling
This is Barry. He's an Eastern Box Turtle who lives in a nature center. He's quite charming!
You have a great eye for color!
Oooh! I love it so much!
So beautiful!
I love Robert Kaufman fabrics and Kona cottons! Thank you for sharing.
Being soooo cute!!
She is! She's about 16 years old.
At first I thought it was a tattoo. Which would also be amazing. Beautiful work! I love the critters!
Thank you so much!
I love it so much! Did you create the hoodie pattern, or is it available somewhere? I'd love to try making one!
A small brown lizard sits on a person's hand and bites their index finger. The lizard (a crested gecko) is adorable and definitely not scary. In the background is the gecko's vivarium enclosure, with its glass front open for feeding time.
I think my crested gecko, Elvie, is telling me she needs crickets. She eats her crested gecko diet every night, but last night my son's fingertip was enough to trigger her predator response. (Her bites don't hurt.) I'll get crickets for her today! #reptile ๐ฆ
I love this so much! Great choice to have the art occupy the whole 2 pages, too. <3
We have had great success repairing appliances ourselves! We've put a new top on a glass-top stove, almost completely disassembled our dryer to replace a part (and got it back together), done a couple different refrigerator repairs, and now the dishwasher. I feel like it's the test of a marriage.
Trixie is an effective leader.
A small, fluffy tabby cat reclines on a dish towel on a kitchen counter above an open dishwasher. She exudes a sense of calm correctness. The dishwasher rack functions perfectly under her benevolent rule.
My sweetie and I fixed the top rack of the dishwasher together! We ordered the parts and followed the instructions in the video. Very little blood was shed and no harsh words were spoken. Miss Trixie Moo's supervision was vital. #caturday ๐
Absolutely stunning!!!
I need to check on mine!
I'm a goober. I love the cat mug, which arrived today. But I didn't understand the economics. Then I found my way back to the tip function and had trouble with it, so you will see two separate tips (I hope). I did it on purpose. Awkwardly. I want you to be supported for the lovely work.
A photo of a stream flowing with meltwater through a winter woodland. The ground is mostly covered with snow, with some green moss, brown soil, and reddish fallen oak leaves on the stream edges.
Melting, finally!
