does anyone have a good idea of where to go for warhammer interiors? im not looking for specific places, more like a general aesthetic vibe. most of the official art takes place in featureless combat voids, and i can only get so much info from the low-res rogue trader backgrounds

behind-the-scenes mess in media companies is one of my fun little special interests. i don’t know if it’s *better* to know that a show you like got canned because the parent company overextended itself a year and a half ago, but it’s certainly entertaining

honestly he’s the outlier because half of his odd choices were because he had a (bad) idea he wanted to explore, while the other half were made explicitly to sell toys. for most big media companies, it’s just the toys part, with a side of corporate wrangling and petty infighting

george lucas alone was a boogeyman to star wars fans for decades. the stories of other companies trying to work with him are amazing—if you haven’t read the saga of the doomed darth maul video game, that one is probably the best

why is everyone fighting? well, it’s because we would like to sell a bunch of crossover event books and make more money, and we won’t realize that this has diminishing returns until it’s far too late

like marvel went through that whole thing where they killed most of the mutants and made the rest sterile because disney/marvel was mad that they didn’t have the rights to the x-men. this is not a sacred medium we are talking about

it’s very weird when chud fans of genre entertainment get mad over some imagined change to continuity (‘a woman exists, this makes me angry’) because genre stuff in particular has always had HUGE continuity shifts for the absolute dumbest reasons
