While not quite the same thing as Vampire Survivors, Ball X Pit is another 'bullet heaven' game that was able to hold my attention 👍

Oh man those eidolon fights are rough, I feel like they're trying to teach you how to use the jobs/strategies but in a ln unfriendly brute force way, like you said it's either do the exact thing that's required or you fuckin die lol

It does open up a bit more later and there is some fun strategy in combining job roles and changing paradigms.

I remember one boss fight that I found really tough - I actually had to write down the specific sequence of it's attacks so I could time my paradigm shifts to counter it, which was cool!

I saw someone point out how it has some similarities to Berserk and Yukimura replied said he was absolutely inspired by it. Makes sense to me, as they can both be extremely violent and dark, with gorgeous art

I know! I loved the anime, it's a beautiful and faithful adaptation of the manga.
I wonder if fewer people watched season 2, maybe because it had less action and was more of a drama? Hopefully it gets more TV, it absolutely deserves it

It was also cool how much of the story is based on real historical events, or Norse legends.
It got me interested enough to do some more reading and listen to some history podcasts about vikings and Norse settlers in Greenland and Iceland

Agreed, roguelikes are great but I feel like I've been playing so many of them recently, I'm down for a more traditional metroidvania or 2d action game.

lol this seems to be the universal flight simulator experience. It's either become a super dedicated pilot, or get bored after 10 minutes 😅

Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary

I tried out Microsoft Flight Simulator recently, when I learned it has an in-game map that's a 1 to 1 equivalent of the entire Earth.
Surprise surprise, it turns out that flying a plane is actually kind of unwieldy and complicated.

I agree with everything you said, especially the stealth lol.
I will always give kudos to FF13 for looking as good as it does though - IMHO videogame graphics peaked with 13 and have never needed to improve 🤌
