I’ve returned to cable TV model via Sling. I’ve had enough of the just streaming model. I personally find it easier to discover new programs by just tuning in to a broadcast channel.

Tell me again how Facebook, Instagram, CompuServe, AOL, Amazon, X (Twitter), and others have similar factors between them? These are all closed ecosystems ruled by gatekeepers. Perhaps websites could make a comeback? (even though websites also gave the kickstart to Google’s growth).
Did Trump originally wanted to ban the app? Yes. There’s ample proof to that. However, the current ban was ultimately signed by President Biden. Do the users on the app ultimately care who did or said what in a historical context? I doubt they’ll remember the historical context.
If the incoming President and his team manages to lift the ban, it won’t be a story about “kids doing things online,” it will be about empowering local communities to have access to clients, again boasting about the empowerment of small businesses (no matter how ironic it is).
