Oh, that would be nerve wrecking
Do you use anything like a pdm system for CAD?
I think thatβs a great way to break it down
Files would include things like equipment CAD, layouts, SOPs, test plans and results for tuning process parameters. Things like that.
Yes! This is for a startup that will develop consumer products, design their production process, and manage the ongoing operations of the manufacturing facility.
Specifically, we are looking at how to organize the files generated when developing the manufacturing process.
Today Iβm tasked with creating a file structure for manufacturing operations at a company. Does anyone have structures that work well for them?
Recently, Iβve been using Craft Cloud for 3D printing and Ponoko for laser cutting quite a bit
Anyone discover a new place to get parts made recently?

So excited :)

We made some 3D printed metal casting patters to better understand how print parameters affect the surface finish.
Next year I need to do a better job of focusing on fewer projects at once so I can complete them quicker
To finish up the year, I gave my quote sharing tool Zitat a last brush of my limited design skills. The blog post about SLCs by @asmartbear.com has been in my mind, and I am trying to get away a bit from crappy MVPs ;). Try yourself: zitat.apps.heltweg.org #buildinpublic
Merry Christmas yβall :)
Hereβs a video machining a a casting pattern printed using a 5mm nozzle. This part was printed and machined in less than 8 hours
Received the best gift today
Oh cool! Iβm not familiar with that, but Iβll check it out
Welcome back :)
This came out amazing :)
Thatβs really amazing! What program did you sculpt it in? Blender?
3D printed Titanium
3D printed and anodized Titanium gift for my partners birthday :)
Where do you get prototype parts?
Many order them from Service Bureaus online. Here are a few of my favorite:
- Fictiv
- ProtoLabs
- Craft Cloud
- Xometry
- SendCutSend
Thanks :)

Iβd love to join if the list isnβt all filled up :)
Iβd love to join if there is still room :)
Thanks for making this list! Iβd love to be part of it if possible. HRI was a focus in my phd :)
Visited Noisebridge today for their 3D printing class. Itβs a really cool hackerspace in SF mission district.
Iβm seeing people post introductions here, so Iβll do one!
Iβm Eric, and this account is for my company Sindri Labs. We help entrepreneurs bring their products to market. We do that by helping them get prototype parts quickly. We are a manufacturing focused company!
