Itโ€™s almost a year since the regulator flagged Galwayโ€™s rising rents as of more concern than other cities - but everyone expects them to keep going up.

The government insists this will help with supply and, eventually, lead to a fall. Thereโ€™s still no timeline on when that might happen.

Worries new rules will heap pressure on renters in a city already seeing 'concerning trends' Itโ€™s almost a year since the stateโ€™s private rental watchdog flagged mounting issues in Galwayโ€™s rental sector.

Itโ€™s worth keeping an eye on how small and big landlords fare in the new system.

The RTB says small landlords have 53% of Galway city tenancies and big landlords (meaning 4+ homes) have the rest - but this dynamic may shift

The EU is trying to solve the housing crisis as a bloc, how did their first crack at it go? Dublin MEP says the left grouping heโ€™s part of โ€˜got enoughโ€™ concessions despite a split on the plan.

New 5,300 homes approved for Dublin - but councillors warn lack of transport will clog roads They urged the government to fund the expansion of the Dart into the proposed route south-west of Heuston Station.

This reared its head again last night as councillors approved the rezoning of lands for 5,300 new homes in the Kylemore area.

That rezoning followed pressure from the government on councils to put more land towards housing - so thereโ€™s a row brewing
