Really had fun seeing that with my teens.
New season of Top Chef features Annoying Identical Twin Brothers. I always hate the cocky male chefs and this time they were like βhave two, theyβre identical!β
I just have this radical idea that we should make sure everyone can afford to eat and also that we shouldn't micromanage how folks spend their meager food benefits.
Battling her is like signing up to be verbally devastated in the most hurtful way possible so I'm just...not gonna. She's going to move to Portland and I will be friendly but distant and it'll be fine.
My sister (whom you may remember I am mad at) works at my kids' school and she hopped in my car to chat when she saw me there for pickup and we did what we always do: pretended we aren't mad and scheduled a family dinner to celebrate her youngest's birthday.
Everyone in America is Irish on St. Patrick's Day and Scottish while watching Braveheart, apparently.
Honestly, I'm really proud of how close I am to my kids. I am not close to my parents or siblings and this is an intentional choice that I have made that my little family will be different than the one I come from.
I feel like a fuckup in most areas of my life a lot of the time but I mostly do not relate to mom guilt at all. Just saw some reel shared by a friend about "tears cried in the bathroom, worried about ruining them" and yeah, I'm giving them some future therapy fodder but also: they're fucking great.
If I weren't far too squeamish for "buckets of blood" I'd be so down.
Braveheart is like a whole thing for the American Evangelical Male. It gets a lot of mention in one of their bestselling books on masculinity: Wild At Heart.
The numbers are also important so staff can talk about guests without it being obvious who we're talking about, lol.
Jon promises to make it up to me that I had to shovel in his absence.
Four of Denverβs most renowned young Mexican-American chefs will spend all day Sunday cooking brisket tacos, carnitas, carne asada and more to raise funds for the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, serving food to anyone who donates.
Jon reports that Winter Park was a madhouse today. Everybody in the state was like "fuck yeah, finally some pow, sorry boss, I'm sick"
I shoveled and now I get to have a glass of wine because thank God I decided I was only giving up weeknight drinking for Lent, not All Drinking.
Letβs talk about Graham Platnerβs Big Lie, finally. In 2009, at the height of the Gulf War, the Marines barred him from active duty. Platner claims it was his forearm tattoos. But his one forbidden tattoo was the Nazi symbol on his chest. He knew - and he left the Marines rather than give it up. 1/
What do you MEAN I have to shovel the snow while Jon is out of town snowboarding. That is a boy job and definitely not something someone married to a straight man should ever have to do.
Because you're a really fucking good writer!!
Now that they're trying to pretend their war is not a war, they've gone back to calling it the Defense Department.
This piece is referring to SCOTUS*, but:
The Speaker of the House is an evangelical Christian, as is the Senate Majority Leader.

That's what they said on Indie 102.3 this morning!
As a first grader, the kid I was required to hold hands with to cross the street on our school campus to get to lunch/recess/chapel was a boy named Lucas who liked to suck on his sleeves, and then I'd have to touch his hand and feel his damp sleeves. Mucus Lucas was our family nickname for him.
"ew, no."
Denver's a snow globe this morning! Finally! LOL though, back to the 70s on Monday.
I guess they could also go to Denver or Colorado Springs or Anchutz Medical Campus, too, but we're getting that faculty discount kids.
I think I had 125ish kids in my high school graduating class, in a town with 3 high schools.
If all goes according to plan the kids will be at CU Boulder someday which just seems unfathomably huge to me!
the department of war swears it's not doing a war with its warfighters
My entire college had 500 students. It blows my mind that my kids will be at a high school with 2500 students this fall.
