I am disturbed by the news that 300,000 Black women have left the labor force within a three-month period, largely due to dramatic cuts to the federal workforce.

Trendy summer footwear
Damn Tom is such a proud papa this season.
Left town for three rainy days and my babies had a growth spurt!
Just wept through that Top Chef semifinal. Ant fucking togarashi on cabbage. Tom going "I love my job."
Hahaha, I love that!
Something I am realizing is that when people say "I just need an hour of your time," what they mean is "3 to 4 hours" and because I work at the snailiest of paces, that's anywhere from 6 to 12 hours of labor from me.

I'm so so sorry, Anselm!
Desperately need an ad blocker extension but for AI. An AI blocker extension. Does this already exist?
Wild indigo! And another columbine!
Book cover against blue background. Cover reads "In the Realm of Motes Baptiste Gaillard Translated by Aditi Machado." Cover image is of artwork by Gaillard.
I have translated a book of poems from French! It is appearing from Roof Books in September! The poet is the wonderful Baptiste Gaillard (baptistegaillard.com)!
Also blooming: wild geranium and wild hyacinth
Came home (five days later) to columbines in full bloom!
Should have posted this at least 24 hours ago, but well: I'm reading with Kai Ihns, Imani Elizabeth Jackson, & Margaret Ross at the Neubauer Collegium (U of Chicago) at 5 pm today!

Everything sucks about my university except we have a great reading series. Personal heroes Julie Carr & Gillian Conoley will read tonight at 5.30 pm.
Never call me a creative.
I would like to punch someone very hard for claiming my punctuation is inconsistent when I made an actual document with a list of rules to follow and then read the text aloud three times to check against the rules.
Trying to send "energy" to the poet I translate from French ... does not seem to work en français ...
OK, this piece hit them HARD--in a good way. Hard-recommend this essay for writing students who are struggling for any number of reasons. Also for being a writer in a neoliberal institution where everything is "what's the deliverable?" There are no fucking deliverables!
I have a PDF.
