Omg, yes, that sounds amazing!

Absolutely agree with this.
I love my fantasy and scifi but reading literature/watching films or TV outside these genres is extremely valuable, refreshing and often more inspiring than stuff within the genre.
Oh, I didn't think you would - sorry if it came across that way!
You don't need to asshole-proof your game. The answer to "how will this play if there's an asshole at the gaming table?" is "I don't care, the assholes are not invited".
when they learned I was from Poland and I tend to find it awkward. I don't think intent was ever bad but I don't enjoy it. It adds to mental load of social interaction, as I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it.
It may be a very personal thing but I'd treat that advice with caution.
To be honest, I think I'd find it really weird if a person I've known for a while in the UK suddenly started greeting me in Polish. (Unless they were actually trying to learn the language or there was other context that made it make sense.)
I've had people I just met say hello to me in Polish

This kind of thinking really strikes me as the problem of what crowdfunding has become: itβs not Kick*Starting*, itβs Kick*Finishing*
And boy howdy does that reinforce systemic systems of privilege where only people who already have the capital to expend can meaningfully participate in the market.
If you are in Glasgow and want a treat, go try the Glasgow Radical Tours walking tour. One of the guides wrote "John Maclean; Hero of Red Clydeside", Henry Bell and will indulge endless questions like a champ <3
All their tours are great.

I don't know if I'm particularly good but I just love focusing on words and choosing the right ones for what I want to say and for the feelings I want to evoke.
I spent an evening editing and improving an older short story and all I want to say is that AI "writers" don't know the pleasure of trying different words and choosing the right rhythm to the sentence. They don't seem to know it's possible.
Their lives are emptier for it. Just like their "writing."
This offer is still available and Iβm very flexible on what itβll cover and making sure to do right by your project - just send me an email to start a conversation!
I'll be watching out for that!
Hi Bluesky!
Iβm Anzal, an independent game developer from Scotland. Iβm currently working on Pip Pepper Park Planner, a thinky video game in which you design places for animals.
My local community bookshop are a gem; one of those places you can pick up interesting second hand books on the cheap. Chuck then a few quid of you can!

Also, I wanted to quote the next post in Quinn's thread here but I clicked wrong and now it's too late.
This also works, I guess, but look at that whole thread.
I think ttrpgs are an exciting medium because creativity happens on two levels here: game design and using a game to tell a story/create certain experiences by people who pick it up.
To me, one of the most interesting things in ttrpgs is what happens when people pick up a game and use it as a starting point for their own creativity - coming up with ideas within its framework or tinkering with it, taking it appart and mixing it with other ideas they bring.
That's part of what I'm getting at when I say that I see designing games as a proposition/invitation.
To me, it's like saying: "here's my ideas for something you could explore and play with" and it's up to others to pick which parts of what I'm presenting they want to engage with and how.
I think we do, my process is pretty slow π
(mostly due to being overwhelmed with day job and always too many plans). That's why I never managed to actually participate in a game jam.
But I'll be watching what others create with interest!
I unfortunately lack energy to create something quickly now but I hope this will lead to some cool things being made!
My birthday game jam starts in less than a week! Check it out:
