What is the mystery @nytimes.com?

Yarvin is still the dumbest antimemetic of Nadia Asparouhova's book, which is already a retelling of Dark Matter (referenced in previous post).

Boots on various grounds. That escalated quickly.

I'm horrified by the social realities that will flow from American energy infrastructures. The politics are already had.

With no mass protest movements in the streets all commentary sounds silly.

Every episode is like a very expensive and polished advertisement for the "art" of luxury dining.

New York Times headline about the horrid staff endured at Noma, which was featured on the Netflix series Chef's Table.

Chef's Table always felt like an over produced, fantasy version of the chefs and restaurants they profiled.

as a Noma employee told the NYT the last time they reported on this abuse and violence, β€œEverything luxetarian is built on somebody’s back; somebody has to pay.” Exploitation is a selling point; for $1,500, people expect the fruit leather beetles to taste like owning slaves.

This morning I woke up to a BBC report about US companies' interests in mining resources in Venezuela and how Delcy Rodriguez will "cut red tape" to make it easier to mine gold and other natural resources (which means even less regulation and more harm). 2/2

Last night I saw a Venezuelan friend give an artist talk on the role gold and its mining practices play in her work. She spoke of the slow violence of the mining industries on the people and the environment. She marked this in her work with international news headlines about Venezuela. 1/2

After years of talk of AI automation that is now kicking in to high gear, I don't think this result is unexpected. I imagine losses are also compounded by tariff disruptions and general economic chaos caused by the administration.

The sound of the Overton Window closing quietly on notions of progress.

This just gives me a sense of the massive levels of corruption that will historically help define this administration's cruelty.

When the OS requires 8 gigs of RAM as the bare minimum to run, it's a dumb product. No ability to add a few gigs of RAM is just planned obsolescence for an otherwise capable machine.

I'm following your critique of the rental economics, but they also make sure you have to regularly upgrade the local device with that hard memory limit (welded to the CPU). Anyway...other options!

AI might be wrong but "The MacBook Neo runs the full, native macOS operating system directly on its local hardware, not in the cloud."

The new Macbook Neo comes with 8Gb of RAM, which is the bare minimum to run...MacOS. I don't know how they can even market this thing.

Investing in Miami real estate over landlocked Wyoming appears to be a flex among the billionaires. This headline is also mixing metaphors rather recklessly.

While it's an unregulated industry? Hard to really give a shit given the current Congress, executive branch, and their voters. Plus SCOTUS.

the absolute best you can do in defense of this guy is to claim that he has no idea what's going on in this country and no desire to change that. as political pitches go there are better ones
