“Do your part” can make sense in a war that is thrust upon the country or one that the vast majority agrees with. In a deeply unpopular and illegal war waged on the whim of a madman, it is just insulting.

It is not the most important issue right now, but this is why you need the consent of the people through their representatives to wage a war. In a free country, you cannot reasonably expect people to sacrifice for a conflict that they never agreed to and don’t support.
"This is an insane demand in an insane war. Demanding unconditional surrender gives the other government no option except to fight to the bitter end." daniellarison.substack.com/p/an-insane-...
This is a chilling crime. A shame on our country. The Iranian ship was unarmed. The US knew this. The sailors were murdered by our navy, and the survivors were left to die at sea.

Now we slaughter children and kill sailors on unarmed ships. He’s despicable.
Ok, I stand corrected. It sort of exists.
Not a problem. I came across the same group you found. It’s hard to find anything that you want to find with search engines these days.
That’s not the right organization.
WSJ frequently publishes hawkish zealots, but the author of that piece is really out there. The "Near East Center for Strategic Studies" that he claims to run doesn't seem to exist.
The @nytimes.com will use every possible euphemism to avoid saying “Israeli invasion”

I don't feel good about that!
No doubt Mullin will bring the same extremely low level of competence and knowledge to Homeland Security that he brought to the Senate.
The US is bombing targets in western Iran to pave the way for an incursion of US-backed Iranian Kurdish forces in Iraq and foment an insurgency—but heavy US bombings "have come at a huge cost to civilian lives in the area." That's sure to win Iranian hearts and minds! www.nytimes.com/2026/03/04/u...
There are indeed malevolent forces at work, and they seem to have taken possession of many high-ranking U.S. officials.
He won't even acknowledge his own quotes. He specifically argued against attacking Iran more than once, and now it is clear that his views on this didn't matter at all.
When Colby was up for his current job, there was a campaign by Iran hawks to oppose his nomination on the grounds that he was some sort of “dove” on Iran. He pandered to them and claimed Iran was an “existential danger” to the U.S. He was confirmed, but obviously he has lost the policy fight.
darth vader: I am the champion of failures. I lost everything that ever mattered to me and it was all my fault.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the Iranians are not going to invite Trump to participate in the selection process.

Trump's Lone Ranger Approach to Iran
But he's not the Lone Ranger. He is the violent brigand terrorizing the townspeople. He's El Guapo.
First Lady of Iraq:
"Leave The Kurds Alone. We Are Not Guns For Hire."
This new cycle of violence was all too predictable. For months, Israeli officials had signalled an escalation of their campaign against Hezbollah. Despite a ceasefire that ended a devastating 13-month war in 2024, Israel had continued with its bombing of Lebanon almost every day, saying the group was trying to rebuild its capabilities. Hezbollah, however, had remained quiet, aware that any move would inevitably be met with a powerful retaliation.
Interesting admission by BBC
It turns out that putting a war crimes enthusiast in charge of the Pentagon is dangerous.
If the Sri Lankans hadn't shown up, those men would have been left there to die just like survivors from the boat attacks in this hemisphere.
With "war" transforming into the Republicans' Lord Voldemort on Capitol Hill — otherwise known in "Harry Potter" lore as "He Who Must Not Be Named" - those who accidentally used the word quickly contorted themselves to get out of it.
This is such an embarrassing sentence to put in a newspaper
The Israelis and Americans share the gleeful cruelty of a 10-year-old in need of a psych intervention tormenting anthills with a magnifying glass. Normal people recoil. But there are far fewer normal people than we hoped.
Israel warns nearly a million people in south Beirut to evacuate their homes ahead of bombing. This is insanity.
