That being said, I don't see why we wouldn't try and fix what you've found 🤔 It's nice that Avro IPC exists as an alternative and if you ever want to contribute we'd be happy and grateful to see improvements! I'll try to create some JIRA in the meantime and thanks so much for bringing this up.

I think the right thing for us to do here is update the security model to explicitly say that Avro IPC today is *not* built to handle malicious input from untrusted actors.

The right way to represent floating point numbers in JSON, if you care about precision, portability, or reality, is a 32 or 64 element boolean array that correspond to an IEEE 754 bit value.

I would also accept a binary string, _maybe_ a decimal string, but certainly not a JSON number.
