Some people seem to change when behind the wheel. It’s as if they forget basic manners and respect.

They think their need, journey and passage on the road is all important regardless of risk.

Entitlement. Toxic masculinity. Impatience. Arrogance.

We need a radical overhaul of driving culture.

Great video — but the real issue is driver culture. Why rush past a cyclist only to sit at the next red light, where they catch up anyway? Adding real risk for only a few seconds — or often zero gain. We wouldn’t barge ahead in a normal queue, so why do it behind the wheel?

Shame Canada couldn't win gold at hockey, but on the bright side, they've probably saved their nation from the imposition of 1000% punative tariffs on goods into the USA

Bought this vinyl on sight in 1984, browsing through Shades in Soho, London. Quickly grew to love its doomy vibes.

Donate to the RNLI and help save lives at sea Your donations really make a difference. We depend on your generosity to educate people to stay safe and prevent tragedies on and offshore. Donate here.

Since a handful of hate filled people protested outside RNLI HQ yesterday because they're angry that crews don't discriminate in their rescues and work to save all lives at sea you might want to show your support with a one off or regular donation.

He's just insulting everyone else.

I spent several hours with Gisele Pelicot in Paris last week

She is REMARKABLE

Her interview is powerful, emotional and…uplifting

She has a message of hope for survivors of sexual violence around the world - but also for all of us

Plus….she has found love ❤️

The rise in serious injuries makes the publication of the Mayor’s Vision Zero Action Plan 2 all the more urgent.

We need every tool in the book to reduce danger on London’s roads and provide viable alternatives to driving with safe crossings, bike lanes, speed limits and a huge culture shift.

Epstein victims demand US time limit on sex trafficking cases be dropped Democrats introduce ‘Virginia’s Law’ to remove barriers for survivors of sexual violence from seeking justice

Isn’t it time we changed the language of “sex trafficking”? Instead use “Rape trafficking”. Sex implies consent. There is none. This is rape, coercion and abuse of vulnerable people. Our language should reflect the harm inflicted. Words matter.

This is another reason measures to reduce traffic are so urgently needed.

Everything helps - pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, 20mph limits, clean air zones, congestion zones, investment in new public transport options, parking control, liveable neighbourhoods and car clubs.

Let’s do it all.

Man who drove 135mph jailed for 10 years after fatal M40 crash Police says CCTV footage shows Trad Almaghrabi leaving the scene on foot.

With criminality this serious ending in death, what other crime would escape national news? This was only BBC local. What more must happen for a lifetime ban? Driving is a privilege, not a right. Our culture — and sentencing — needs radical change.

Let’s shift the narrative: focus on drivers — with better legislation, clearer guidance and stronger communication — so harm isn’t normalised or dismissed as “cycling is risky”. It’s long past time to prevent harm, not explain it away. Less victim-blaming.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change. Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”

Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life.

Common sense.

Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.

I can't tell you how many times in my old job I warned that a change in technology would not result in a change in productivity because the technology was implemented not in response to identifying a business problem and finding a well-matched solution but because some guy wanted it.

Driving is a privilege, earned through assessment and retained via acceptable standards.

Why should such people ever be allowed to lawfully drive again and share the road with victims?

We would never return a firearms licence to someone who unlawfully used a gun to kill. Why is driving different?
