If Liam Lawson has no haters I am dead. And I don’t care if every person in New Zealand blocks me; I am sustained by your inexplicable confidence in him.

They show Liam Lawson coming in sixth as if (1) he isn’t routinely beaten by every teammate he has ever had and also (2) see 1.

Finally watched the Christian Horner episode of Drive to Survive and absolutely wild to make Yuki Tsunoda the villain in the Yuki-Liam tete-a-tete. Seriously how dare you.

My main nemesis forever is Liam Lawson, but this year I’ve decided to also hope for Kimi Antonelli to obliterate George Russell for the comedy value alone.
I can’t be mean to Ferrari, their strategists have that under control. Verstappen is fair game but Hadjar is a little baby fawn.

If Fernando Alonso’s maybe final season is as fully doomed as it looks right now, my only salvation for enjoying the season is to become The World’s Greatest Hater.

The main thing to remember after FP1 of the new Formula 1 season is that George Russell looks like his ancestors for sure used to own humans.

There’s a particular kind of (American) F1 fan who, when they hear of any team having trouble, goes, “Lol and they thought Andretti wouldn’t add value.”
Yes. Correct. That is how little everyone in F1 thinks of Andretti.

Lady in a giant white SUV pulls out of the school drop-off line in the wrong direction, immediately kicks it up past the posted school zone limit, and blasts through a lighted crosswalk with her head down — texting. Yeah this is going to be awesome in December when we’re doing this in the dark.

What the hell does a "safe contact" do for the design principle that anything you type into it will be met with, "That's a great question, and you're brave to ask it."

The most toxic lie big tech has sold us is the idea that, with just the right tweaks, bad tech can become safe.
There's no way to make ChatGPT into a "safe" tool for people in distress: it is designed to affirm every terrible intrusive thought you've ever had, because sycophancy locks the user in.

Senior leadership will explicitly state the need for more faculty support, more pedagogically-driven technical guidance, and signal increased workload, then look at staffing levels that can only lead to burnout and go, “Yeah, looks great.”

I am a faculty member in the Learning Design and Innovation department, which at my institution facilitates and develops the teaching, learning, and digital pedagogy expertise in the university. By this time next year, we will be at half our current complement. In this climate, this is “efficient.”

This is such an important reframing of the conversation about automation, and senior leadership in universities will do well to heed it. (They won’t, because they’re beholden to boards full of MBAs without three creative thoughts among them, but still.)

3. The Red Bull being impossible to drive OR Hadjar troubling Verstappen at the front (I would happily take either).
4. Perez-Bottas social media hijinx of the highest order.
5. Audi make surprising strides so Fernando gets to do lots of proud Grid Dad stuff with Gabriel Borteleto.

As a Fernando Alonso stan, this F1 season is going to be long and depressing, so here are some things I'm hoping for to cheer me up along the way:
1. Antonelli beating Russell regularly enough to annoy Russell.
2. Liam Lawson losing to yet another less experienced teammate.

Ok. So you (1) can’t possibly have a rational conversation with anyone holding this view and (2) can’t possibly trust a media apparatus that is willing to pretend this is worth of broadcast.
