Completely agree. Read to my new graduate from the day we came home from hospital. She turned pages of board books a 4 mos. Taught herself to read at 4 yrs. Amazing vocabulary, beautiful writer. Example is key!
In competitive speech and debate, we have an event called Dramatic Interpretation of literature. My student became state champ in 2023 with a selection from Salt to the Sea. 😃

Today during the NSDA Nationals Humorous Interp finals, an unauthorized person with a bag came onstage. A mic'd up competitor shouted for people to run. Thousands of people, mostly teens, ran for our lives.
Was there deadly danger? I don't know. I'd rather overreact than underreact.

Parent angst. My baby (who was born 2 weeks after my previous "baby" graduated) is graduating in 30 days. Last night started the series of ceremonies and "lasts". I teach at her school. It's going to be weird not having her there. (Pics because she's awesome. )

Spoke in church yesterday about the difference between charity and love. Love is easy. Charity requires sacrifice. In 2025 I want to be better at charity.

Right as I left school on Wednesday, I FINALLY got the staff list I have waited 2 months for. Now I can do all those overdue yearbook pages. Holiday weekend, NBD.
