Mainly retired but you can find me from time to time working at the library. Best job ever. πŸ’™πŸ“š I love reading, walking travel and I spend a lot of time researching my family history. You can read my family tree stories on https://shakingthebranches.com/

I do sometimes judge a book by its cover and this one really caught my eye. #BookSky #LibrarySky

I haven’t. Just had a look on Fantastic Fiction so might give that a try. Thank you!

Icelandic noir is definitely my favourite just now. Running out of authors!

It really is. It’s a great app. I probably don’t make best use of it but I like tracking my reading.

I love this cover collage feature in Storygraph. This is my 2025 reading list and the vast majority were free from the library. #BookSky #LibrarySky

A really interesting and entertaining read. Nothing about it made me want to take up cycling or visit America but I do admire his courage and determination.

Just finished Home Before Dark by Eva BjΓΆrg Γ†gisdottir. I just love Iceland and Icelandic crime fiction and Γ†gisdottir is one of the best. Available at your local library.

Probably not a word I’ve ever written but I seem to remember them labelled as syboes at the greengrocer. Bluesky doesn’t like that spelling!

Storage is a big issue. Plus as time passes fewer people will recognise who these people are so I definitely need to get them organised and labelled. Hoping that makes it more likely for future generations to want to keep them. #GenHour

I have done the scanning and should have organised them then. I inherited a real mess of a box and it was all too much. I will also have to organised the scanned photos.

I always feel bad getting rid of photos but I have all the old family photos which include things like waiters in the hotels where my parents stayed.

I bought a photo storage box with individual cases to help sort through all the old pics but I keep putting it off because it seems such a huge task #GenHour

I think I’d keep these ones in case the significance becomes apparent later in your research.

Moved on to Just Seventeen when I got too old for Misty! I remember having a Just Seventeen t-shirt which was in the style of the Choose Life/Relax ones. Maybe had to collect tokens for it? I’m not sure. Happy memories.

I’d like to know this too. I have one big tree but would like to copy it and also have separate trees for maternal and paternal lines.

Should’ve updated sooner but I loved this book. Historical crime fiction featuring issues that sadly still exist. #booksky #librarysky πŸ“šπŸ’™
