A fearsome tuxedo cat wrapped in the entrails of the rainbow string. Truly, a terror to behold.

Wow, that's amazing.

A well-plated dinner with a quesadilla, beans, and guacamole. Pretty much everything has a fancy garnish which I really never do so I had to document the occasion.
Among the best meals Iβve ever cooked at home, featuring 3 vegan cheeses we made at a recent cooking class with @dorastable. This is carrot and potato tinga quesadillas topped with almond crema, refried black beans, and guacamole. So much yum!
A white and black cat stretched out in Superman pose like heβs the best thing that ever happened to anyone.
Superchester to the rescue! He makes everything better.
Homemade vegan pizza with impossible sausage, pineapple, and homemade cheese.
Not gonna lie. Iβm a pineapple on pizza kinda gal.
I am so grateful that the research project I first worked on gave me time to run down an original source for every claim. Just because all the scholarship claims that scrofula of the breast didn't enter medical literature until the late 19thC doesn't mean it's true! (Never research scrofula.)
To some extent itβs frustrating, because powerful people are trying to force reality to conform to their capitalist science fiction fantasy. But day to day, getting to know students who are genuinely trying to use all the tools available to make sense of the world, itβs really rewarding.
As an academic librarian who assists students as they try to make sense of the garbage AI returned when they tried to use it to find relevant papers, I can confidently state that AI is actively detrimental to research and understanding.

(And I'm aware of the problematic gatekeeping this introduces, when the people who are able to recommend for or against entry into the published conversation are those rewarded by the status quo.)
This is 100% true. I'm very aware that as a full-time, TT faculty member, I am compensated for service like reviews in a way that my contingent colleagues aren't, so unless a submission is really far outside my expertise, I try to accept every invitation to review. It's literally my job!
A lot of folks seem extremely eager to outsource the work of being human, and I just have to ask: What are they all doing instead? What is more important than doing the work of being human?

A homemade pizza with fennel, potatoes, and two kinds of vegan cheese, one of which melted, the other of which crisped.
In other news, yesterday I learned how to make vegan cheese that actually grates and melts and today I made this kickass pizza.
Nice! Looks like a great place to volunteer!
Just looking at that shell casing brings back such a vivid tactile memory. I love how delicate they are.
Also, when were at the PSC? I volunteered there in high school in the 1990s, and it was such a great experience to learn and share knowledge in real time.
We are really going to regret the technology we have built.
Have you created your own NYC focused walking tour? If not and you want to, Jane's Walk is a good opportunity to do so. Submissions for the festival happening in May are open until the end of March. www.mas.org/janes-walk-n... - I like to facilitate a mini tour as part of this & to sign up for tours
Given the public's attitude to this war, it should be the easiest thing in the world for our representatives to oppose it. There should be no excuse for Democratic lawmakers to be to the right of Rand fucking Paul on the issue.
In a conversation between June Jordan and Angela Y. Davis, published in 1990, Jordan said she was concerned about how much despair there is cuz people often take it out on themselves.
She said she wanted a return to rage, where itβs taken out on the system.
I am once again begging you not to platformpunch people with 256 followers and a bad take.
This man was born in 1977. How can he be expected to remember what happened in 1979?
Percy Shelleyβs journal: last night I awoke to a creature watching me through my bedroom window with a face white as chalk
Mary Shelleyβs journal: read four books today. Learning three languages while discussing astronomy and mathematics. Also Percy tried to chase his creature again.
As a teenager.
Seeing some "fuck Kansas" replies/QTs and while I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment behind the statement, I think a better response would be "fuck, we need to help the people of Kansas"
If anyone knows a good way to do that, please put it in the comments and I will amplify
Imagine telling kids: Listen, rich people made this somewhat crappy product they're going to make you use when you end up having to work for them, so we have to teach you how to try to use it and that's a lot of work for both of us because it's pretty crappy.
That's called "AI literacy."
With apologies to everyone who doesn't live in NYC but has to keep hearing about our weather, IT'S FUCKING SNOWING AGAIN.
The Governor of Illinois has also threatened to sue. Personally I think the entire country should sue. All 350 million of us as well as every nation affected.
