going thru it, and by it i mean one of those phases where i feel stagnant can’t tell if i should lean into painterly methods or illustrative and being frustrated with how i handle both for different reasons. i know this’ll pass but i would looooove to not be dissatisfied when looking at my own shit

referenced off of Leyendecker's "Primping in the Mirror" piece — the vase and daffodils have been omitted, along with the top hat before the mirror. the background in the piece is all varied washes of red, still with shapes mimicking those in the original. replacing the man is OC Nepenthe, who is adjusting the cravat of the nondescript black clothes that form on his figure to mimic fabric. his hair is wildly floating sans gravity out behind him, and from his arms down black webbing flocks the reflection.

i cannot put into words how fuckin jazzed i am with how this turned out i want to devour him

referenced off Leyendecker's Interwoven toe and heel Socks ads — sitting in the pose is OC Lou, her stance is the same as the man in the original piece, but without tophat or bowtie, an ascot replacing the latter. her clothing has been altered a bit to make it a little closer to 1780s wear. the suit is a dark green in color, with bright electric green touched on the cane, the stitching of the sock, and the flower on the lapel.
