"Szym's work is unsettling in the best possible way, pulling you toward the edges of familiar reality before tipping over into nightmare." - Boing Boing
My daily Boing Boing reader high school self would be pretty pumped about this.

I was excited to receive the latest issue of @Make:, the "Props, Models, and Miniatures" issue.
It has two articles by me, one on "trashbashing" (making sci-fi models from kitchen trash) and a piece on painting, weathering, and modeling tips. The whole issue looks great!
Over at @boingboing.net, @garethbranwyn.bsky.social has an exclusive look at the new book by @aronwiesenfeld.bsky.social.
"These aren't scribblings or casual doodles; they're distilled vignettes packed with mood, mystery, and lots of character."

Read all about the "clam switches of Warsaw" in my latest newsletter. No, really--clams, outfitted with contact switches, are used in the Warsaw, Poland municipal water system to monitor water quality.

I am disturbed to learn from Josh Marshall's Talking Points Memo that you have not yet committed to oppose the GOP Budget should it pass the House. I wrote in strong opposition to it a few days ago. The GOP framework as previously passed by the House would throw 55,000 in my area (NY-21) off of health insurance and would endanger the viability of our regional hospitals. Under no circumstances should this be allowed by Democrats in the Senate. But further, the GOP Budget effectively ratifies a bunch of Elon Muskβs illegal "cuts" and does nothing to restore the rule of law to how the country's finances are handled. Overnight, when reading the following legal filing, I came to understand that what Elon Musk means by "fraud" in Social Security payments is actually survivor benefits. Here is the legal case: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.mdd.577321/gov.uscourts.mdd.577321.22.10.pdf As a widow, it would cost me personally in excess of over half a million dollars over the course of my life time if our Democratic Senators allow Elon Musk to rob widows and orphans of their Social Security Survivor Benefits in order to pay for his tax cuts and corrupt misappropriation of government funds. No budget should be allowed to pass that allows the Trump administration to continue to refuse to fund Congressional appropriations and continues to allow DOGE to rampage illegally through the government. This is your chance to stop this in its tracks. DO NOT FOLD. Sincerely, Kathryn Cramer
Here is what I wrote this morning to Senators schumer.senate.gov & @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social. Neither of them have committed to opposing the GOP Budget should it pass the House. Call, write, or demonstrate outside their offices. This is a five-alarm fire. The Senate Democrats may fold on us.
On the London tube. I love the comment someone made on FB: "Smells like sour milk and daddy issues."
