Nonverbal Learning Disorder needs a better name, better PR, and better research behind it so it can be recognized by the neuropsych and neurodivergent communities as a whole.

It's been quite a tiring day of telling people to not just say someone with a known diagnosis of NVLD is Autistic because in nearly every instance we tried for an ASD diagnosis and were denied. Please, just recognize NVLD for what it is and stop calling us Nonverbal. We're quite the opposite.
At least I'm learning how to bring the good parts of the old days forward and into the future.
I wish there was a word for... Homesickness, but for a time, not a place.
The PA i knew 20 years ago isn't there anymore. The remnants of Old Florida that I spent that time in isn't there any more, either. I'm listening to 90s music, hoping that it'll help me move forward...
Oh I loved that laptop when I was in high school.
He bankrupted a casino. I didn't know that was possible.
I've been doing VHS to DVD conversions lately and it's so surreal to watch home movies of people you only know as acquaintances from before you were born. The road trips and days at the boardwalk are idyllic.
Don't worry; your memories are safe with me.
Well that's Trumped Up!!
I freaking love #breakfastsoup
Damnit BSky let me edit my posts for spelling!
In my #ukulelequest I'm finding inspiration in the 90s. I was a child at the time but so often I find that I'm singing along to these songs even after decades of not hearing them played. Music is really impressive with the way it holds to your memory, no wonder it's used medically to help people.
I was actually thinking about Balmung from the manga the other day, particularly his line about how he'd 'roleplay being drunk!'
Anyway. In #ukulelecrimes, I was put on the spot and asked to play without warning.
My mind went blank. My fingers tangled. I ended up playing Riptide by Vance Joy for a 70 y/o woman.
Senator I'm astounded by the feat you accomplished. At my best, I could only do 20 hrs straight with no breaks-- and now health issues would demand attention long before that point.
I'm not sure everyone understands the full gravity of what you've accomplished.
No, flipping the mattress did not help.
They just don't make regular pillows right anymore. I sleep with a body pillow under my head because regular pillows are either over or under stuffed-- or one is not enough but two is too much.
In some unholy combination of autism, side sleeping, old mattresses, and being over 35.... I cannot get comfy in my bed lying the normal way anymore. I sleep in a pile of pillows with my feet hanging over the edge and my quarantine pup spooning me.
The planet Jupiter with its cloud bands seen in shades of pink, rusty red, blue, and purple. The Great Red Spot is a deep navy blue, surrounded by bands and swirls of pink, and light blue.
Hubble's ultraviolet view of Jupiter shows the planet in hues of pink and blue.
jupiter wishes you a very happy trans day of visibility ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ
My first song that I learned on the ukulele was Big Yellow Taxi. She is a self taught musician as well, and her approach to everything is as unique as her music.
Oh she's a beauty. Congrats on the uke and your continued growth in betting yourself.
In #ukulelequest notes: my mom, a professional musician who played in a funk band in the 80s, says I'm doing pretty good!!
Cookery while minding your chronic illnesses and trying to engage in the witchery sometimes looks like a mindful and demure spaghetti dinner with a salad of foraged greens #eatyourweeds #foraging #springishere
Well, Ukulele George knows all the chords! That's a feat!
I want you to know that I smile every time I see your posts bc I immediately think of Sultans of Swings and how 'Guitar George knows all the chords'
A+. Thank you for your work.
With a spelling like that? We can probably thank the French.
It's inspired me to try in my #ukulelequest. It has some juicy chords that make my fingers lock up, but that's what practice is for.
At this rate, we're all gonna be fighting over Eric Clapton's girl.
I can't believe the number of young guys on various string instruments nailing the riff in Layla over the last few days, including a kid on a lute.
They said they want to #makedadrockcoolagain.
I've been listening to this stuff since the 90s. It was never uncool.
Sometimes I wish I had more concrete links to ancestral connection. As it stands... I have my adopted family, but the Polish side of it wasn't very tolerant of neurodivergent brain wiring.
Maybe one day I'll have answers. Just... Not today.
Anyway, I'm a Ginger but I'm Not Irish. I'm apparently more Scottish and Welsh... And French. Thanks Ancestry for clearing that up.
#adoptedkidproblems means you have no documents for anything about yourself, just word of mouth that's probably incorrect.
Nothing in life matters.... So I'm having leftover nachos for breakfast.
