What in the absolute fuck is this.

if people are using classified information to place bets, then theoretically others can analyze betting behavior to find signals that reveal classified information.

Recently read a pretty good book on that topic that draws comparisons between the Industrial Revolution and Ai. Could have been shorter imho but you learn a lot about who the Luddites really were - which is a far cry from the stereotype most of us know.

Exactly right, and therefore important not to give credit for an investigation of an obvious atrocity. Appropriate responses are apologies, resignations, firings, impeachments. The individuals who killed people should be tried before a judge and jury.

AI chatbot Grok used to create child sexual abuse imagery, watchdog says Internet Watch Foundation warns Elon Musk-owned AI risks bringing sexualised imagery of children into the mainstream

If a website appeared overnight that gave hundreds of millions of users the opportunity to create CSAM you'd expect governments to shut it down quickly, so the question is why X gets a pass when it's done just that?

08.01.2026 09:08 ๐Ÿ‘ 2373 ๐Ÿ” 920 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 137 ๐Ÿ“Œ 73

The end goal of Grok sexual harassment is to make women afraid to be visible. Itโ€™s a punishment for daring to exist in a way the perpetrators canโ€™t control. Thereโ€™s no one solution to this, because the problem isnโ€™t just technological. Itโ€™s cultural. Itโ€™s misogyny. This is just one expression of it.

05.01.2026 01:10 ๐Ÿ‘ 20542 ๐Ÿ” 5225 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 307 ๐Ÿ“Œ 170

Grok is unique in that it is both the creator and the mass distributor of NCII and CSAM all in one.

And there is no point in having regulations or guardrails to protect children if you donโ€™t enforce them.

"Sind US-Truppen in Grรถnland, aber auch in Deutschland eigentlich noch eine Sicherheitsgarantie? Oder eher ein Sicherheitsrisiko?"

Jonas Schaible wieder sehr lesenswert.

Rebuilding from the rubble Exploring technology for social good

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! I wrote this at the end of last year. Revisiting as I begin to write what happened in 2025 and to look ahead to the new year. Worth re-reading: Rebuilding from the rubble rappler.com/plus-members...

Ultimately, the struggle over disinformation is a struggle over power, legitimacy, and narrative control. It goes far beyond fact-checking or content moderation.

In English we know it as โ€œCarol of the Bells,โ€ but the melody arises from a Ukrainian folk tradition of songs welcoming the new year and summoning the forces of nature to meet human labor and bring prosperity.
Do listen.

Were there moments that you missed? Anything that happened thatโ€™s on the cutting room floor?

I donโ€™t think thereโ€™s anything I missed that I wish Iโ€™d gotten. Iโ€™ll give you a little anecdote: Stephen Miller was perhaps the most concerned about the portrait session. He asked me, โ€œShould I smile or not smile?โ€ and I said, โ€œHow would you want to be portrayed?โ€ We agreed that we would do a bit of both. And then when we were finished, he comes up to me to shake my hand and say goodbye. And he says to me, โ€œYou know, you have a lot of power in the discretion you use to be kind to people.โ€ And I looked at him and I said, โ€œYou know, you do, too.โ€

Wired and 404 Media make FOIA reporting free. Other news outlets should too We spoke to Katie Drummond of Wired, Joseph Cox of 404 Media, and Lauren Harper of Freedom of the Press Foundation about the case for unpaywalling public records-based reporting

When @wired.com made FOIA-based stories free, subscriptions went up.

When @404media.co published public records reporting without a paywall, new sources came forward.

We spoke to both about why dropping paywalls like this is good for journalism โ€” and for business.
