Life's full of good, bad and mediocre days isn't it?
A life metaphor:
Some days up and some days down β
Like Snakes & Ladders..

After our inglorious retreat
and subsequent defeat
the Terms of Surrender
demanded by our enemy
were quite generous
and meant to be conducive
for future peace and #harmony
Or at least until
the inevitable rematch
where we get our revenge
which will be fuckin epic

Got a busy week coming up, so have prepared a polyptychal haiku for doing over the next four days:

I can speak Wel-ish
I know, at least, some Welsh words
From road signs and things

'Land of my fathers' -
Close harmony - but should be
'Parents' these days, right?
(Doesn't work in Welsh: at least, not enough knowledge to adjust it...
'Hen wlad fy nhadau' -
Cytgord agos - ond dylid bod
'Rhieni' y dyddiau hyn, iawn?)

THIRTY YEARS OF RUSSIAN ROULETTE I am spellbound by the stimuli of sludge. My focus is a revolver, spinning in a game of russian roulette that lasts for millennia inside of a day. It's not fair how I get incensed at the trigger when it's my fingers that ache to squeeze. This anxiety became a clichΓ© back in 1996 when I was 8 and I thought the walls of my school were going to chew on me until they became tumors. So what is it now that it's 30 years later and I'm still screaming at my own mind to quite down so I can self-destruct in peace for a change?
I backslid into a pretty awful panic attack yesterday. So today I wrote about my near-lifetime struggle with the awfulness of anxiety.

#PoetsOfDoom: Hay(na)ku Hello, my fellow poetic doomers! Itβs me, Steve (not Daveβs pet penguin, sorry). Here is your form and prompt this week, courtesy of moi. I present to you, the hay(na)ku! The hay(naku) is a poetic form invented in 2003 by Filipino poet Eileen Tabios. The name of the form is a pun on the words haiku, and the Tagalog phrase βhay nakoβ which means βoh wellβ. This form consists of three lines with one word in the first line, two words in the second, and three words in the third, for a total of six words. An example made by me: Blue Boys chase Other blue boys. Your theme is #omen. Your task, create two hay(na)ku that form a chain. Meaning, both pieces must talk about the other. The first one should be about the omen, and the second should talk about the consequence. Happy writing, have fun! Steve Silas Hendrickson
It's Sunday, so it's officially #PoetsOfDoom time!
Tag me or one of these people so we can see your contributions. I look forward to reading them!
