I don't think any AI stuff is in the final games of Baldur's Gate 3 or Clair Obscur though. The writing does feel to creative, and the bosses of Clair Obscur, while abstract, have clear symbolism tied to the characters. I can see how some concept artists could have been replaced with gen AI though.
Even if it is just for placeholders, you can hire an intern to do placeholder text, voice acting, or art. If placeholders don't matter, then it's fine if they aren't there. If placeholders do matter, then give potential new talent to do it. That's not even to mention the environmental impact.
Really disappointed to learn that both Larian Studios and Sandfall Interactive are trying to use generative AI for placeholder stuff.
If these smaller companies are doing it, then I imagine big companies like EA and Blizzard are doing it too.
It's bad for both. Doubly bad if they try and hide it.
