So years ago when Javelina were digging around my maturing Agave, they succeeded at uprooting one of its babies - which was the size of a tennis ball. I planted the baby in pot with other cacti. I am so proud how big baby has grown. Soon it will need to be replanted.

My Agave’s maturity, which will lead to its death, makes me sad because it is tied to memories. It is one of my first plants. Javelina tried to dig it up but Agave prevailed. I have read the flower bloom is spectacular and the stalk may reach 20ft. So I will be taking lots of pics.

I just noticed this stalk, which means my Agave has matured. It will now direct all its energy to grow long stalk, which will then flower. However, once that happens the plant will the die. I have had this plant for 12 years - it is a natural cycle - but still makes me 😔
