So glad you enjoyed it! And nice that theyβre holding up a decade later!

I am legion. π
The estimable @shaunduke.net has created a truly wonderful namesake for me in his Histories. Check it out!!
I love this!! Thank you so much!!
YOU ARE ACKNOWLEGED. (And gratefully!)
I thought I replied to this sooner, but alas! Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words. So glad you enjoyed them!
Iβve had the opportunity lately to collaborate with another creative on a really fun project, and I have to say, I shouldβve done this a long time ago. Collaborating is awesome. Great ideas, accountability to the work, motivatingβ¦highly recommended.
Thinking about hanging out my shingle for developmental editing, query feedback, coaching, critiques, etc. Why let 30+ years of writing, six novels (w/ more to come) and all my marketing chops go to waste?
DMs open. Letβs chat. Referrals welcome.

This tracks. In return, I will leave yours at Rockefeller Center next week. By the post office in the basement. On the right, past the Pret a Porter.
You knowβ¦I have no idea how I got so many followers here, but thatβs awesome. Welcome! Iβll try to be more loquacious here in the future!
God, I hated this movie. But I loved returning to @skiffyandfanty.com to complain about it.
Go forth and feast on my ennui! It was fun!
Really!
And Iβm in it!
And we're LIVE on Twitch w/ our Torture Cinema discussion of Robot Jox (1989)!!!!
Come hang and watch the fun!

Magazine subscriptions at Amazon are ending in September. Amazon is transitioning magazines to Kindle Unlimited, which will result in a 50% decrease in our revenue from them. They have been one of our major distributors, so thatβs a devastating percentage. Please consider subscribing directly with us, but if you canβt and decide to take the KU option, make sure you open and spend time in each issue or weβll get n-o-t-h-i-n-g. Subscribe directly today via Patreon or ClarkesworldCitizens.com and lock in our $2.99/month rate. Subscriptions starting after 9/1/2023 will be $3.99/month.
It's reminder time again. We have no idea who our Kindle subscribers are, but there are a lot of them. Losing those subscribers is going to be brutal, so we'll keep bringing this up. We have no choice.
Image of a Williams-Sonoma email, sent July 29, advertising Halloween products.
Summer is the new fall? I love Halloween unreservedly, but itβs July 29 and I just finished sweating off 10 pounds chasing a toddler around a playground in rather insistent LA sun.
And here I thought having my first PSL over Labor Day weekend at DragonCon felt weird.
Happy Barbenheimer to all those who celebrate.
A flourless chocolate cake with chocolate glaze. Basically chocolate all the way down.
We interrupt this feed to bring you a little chocolate.
Recipe is here: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/flourless-chocolate-cake-recipe
Reminder: Love a writerβs work? Tell them. Seriously. A review or an email or something on social media. Whatever works for you. Sure, some might be assholes, but most writers I know are insecure a lot of the time and hearing from readers brightens up their day.
A sad toast to Anchor Brewing, shuttering today after 127 years of great beer. Iβve had their Christmas Ale every holiday for a very long time.
Also, found out today that Spencer, the Trappist brewery in Massachusetts, had closed its doors a little while ago.
Hold your beers close, friends.
As Iβm currently en route to physical therapy for my knee, this checks out.
It was a whirlpool wormhole and the ship is now orbiting Betelgeuse.
You know how you have a mountain of things to do, all across the board, in all areas of lifeβ¦but then you get a writing idea and itβs all you can think about?
I mean, I have my FINRA Series 7 exam next week, and Iβm obsessed with haunted houses for some reason.
IβVE ALWAYS BEEN HERE.
The call is coming from inside the house!
I started ignoring Twitter a bit before the Other Place really went south. Tried a few others, but it seems this one is technologically sound, and the people are coming. Soβ¦fingers crossed.
So thatβs me. I should probably put all this in a blog post, butβ¦I gotta clean that up too. This thread will do for now.
So what are you all up to these days?
But, you knowβ¦see the top of this thread. Time is precious. But Iβll keep plugging. Iβm not doing being an author. Just very, very busy.
Also, I tore my quadriceps tendon in my right knee in May? So thatβs no fun. But getting better every day.
And then there are at least FOUR other fiction ideas on various stages of development, and by development, I mean anywhere from 500 to 10,000 words of notes and outlines.
The latest? I think I have a really fun and different take on a haunted house tale. Itβs shiny and I want it done tomorrow.
And I also have a non-fiction business book proposal for which Iβm actively looking for an agent. (My amazing and lovely fiction agent doesnβt do this particular thing.)
I mean, Iβve been promoted three times at work since 2018. I now manage teams of roughly 20+ souls. So I might be good at that.
I have two works in progress that are both about half done and total more than 120k words together. I love them both, though they are very different! One is hard SF, the other is straight-up historical fiction.
