The GOP fought tooth & nail for decades against classifying acts of racial terrorism as federal hate crimes because they saw it as "federal over reach." Now they're all "ooh, let's make it a federal crime to vandalize cars built by the world's richest man who's also our biggest campaign donor."

The reason fascism is defeated only by the application of power (through violence or overwhelming solidarity) and not the mechanisms of democracy or civil society is that it is immune to shame. It only cares for power and it only responds to real power.

Also, a woman was handcuffed at a subway station in NYC (Franklin Ave) when she intervened asking why a delivery man was asked to show work permit by undercover agents. There is a video of that.
