The air we share indoors is central to how biological hazards spread, yet it has rarely been treated as a core workplace safety issue. A new draft Code of Practice from Safe Work Australia is beginning to change that.

Happy New Year! π₯
Same here.
I occasionally run into people who are intensely hostile to me over it. Men & women, young, middle-aged & seniors; there's no specific pattern that I can see. 99.9% of the problem with masking is other people's deeply irrational reactions to what you choose to wear to protect yourself.

In some guidelines, annual pneumonia is an indication for immunodeficiency screening.

If the lack of data
makes it difficult for you to know
exactly how bad
the current Covid wave is,
just look at the newspaper
of recordβs recent headline:
βCovid is spreading again
this summer,β
and remember
if they have to admit
the virus isnβt gone
this wave must be pretty bad.

Altruan had to change their website to comply w/FDA scrutiny.
So you will see "This is not available in your country" when you visit the site and try to order human PlusLife products.

Patients with complex illness end up guilted in by incompetent specialists that changes in their illness and their symptoms are due to them stressing, rather than the disease advancing. And instead of investigations and treatment, people end up at home with some SSRI and risk loosing their life.

The sheer amount of H5N1 circulating in North America is deeply concerning. My suspicion is that the likelihood of a reassortment event with seasonal flu occurring is now high. Make no mistake, this situation has pandemic potential.

Wondering how symptom-tracking apps like Visible impact people with energy-limiting conditions? Dr. Amy Proal co-authored this paper which found that data related to heart rate variability (HRV) could predict crashes in individuals w/ LongCovid & ME/CFS:

Seconding the Readimask. Many respi brands have aluminum nosepieces, so are MRI safe, but the tech we had said it could cause ?distortion on the images (especially if they are looking at your head) so no metal is best. In a pinch, u could tape a surgical mask with nose wire removed (to seal to face)
Masks work. Anyone saying different is doing so out of pure willful ignorance at this point.
Iβm often asked for a letter to provide friends, family members or colleagues that explains why I take SARS-CoV-2 so seriously and what I do to protect my family. Iβve written this personal letter to share my perspective & the steps I take. I hope it helps others. π§΅π

Screenshot of the study published yesterday Annals of Neurology. Title: Neurologic Manifestations of Long COVID Disproportionately Affect Young and Middle-Age Adults. Interpretation: Younger and middle-age individuals are disproportionally affected by post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (Neuro-PASC) regardless of acute COVID-19 severity. Although older people more frequently have abnormal neurologic findings and comorbidities, younger and middle-age patients suffer from a higher burden of Neuro-PASC symptoms and cognitive dysfunction contributing to decreased QoL. Neuro-PASC principally affects adults in their prime, contributing to profound public health and socioeconomic impacts warranting dedicated resources for prevention, diagnosis and interventions. ANN NEUROL 2024
You may think that neurological symptoms in #LongCovid are for old people, but it is the opposite. Young adults (18β44βyears) and middle-aged (45β64βyears) with mild acute #COVID cases (non-hospitalized), represent 90% of the cases of #NeuroCovid. Read here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
