Yeah, you are correct. I also remember them mentioning there would be other ways to earn Citizenship different from just playing and completing the Squadron 42 campaign.

Appreciate the clarification!
As far as I am aware, the "Citizenship through Service" is still a thing in the UEE although I would have to ask @paulshelley.bsky.social to be sure.
Outside of lore reasons though, I'm sure they don't expect everyone to play SQ42 and there must be other ways to earn your Citizenship.
Nope, we are completely in agreement!
In Star Citizen's original pitch, players were supposed to play Squadron 42, being discharged at the end, becoming a "Citizen" through service. That would explain callsigns for those people.
Those choosing not to serve can gain Citizenship other ways, earning one somehow through other means.
I feel in a setting like Star Citizen, if you are not from a military background you either receive it from the circles you travel in, or if you are more of a lone wolf, perhaps it would be a moniker or code name that you give yourself for anonymity purposes.
As a day 1 backer with 17 ships in concept, some waiting since the first week of KS to be completed, I will never begrudge anyone their frustration...
That being said, I have 16,000 played in the game while I am waiting, and while slow, they eventually deliver. Sadly, it is a "game" of patience.
So the average 86,000 people who play it every day are not actually playing; they just imagine it all in their minds?
Star Citizen absolutely has some things that players bought that are incomplete. Those players are given loaners to use while waiting.
By your metric, every pre-order is an NFT...
Hope you enjoyed the show, a LOT of work and amazing volunteers go into each of the events put on.
I have not heard of any issues that require you to screw with the registry or files, were you installing on Windows or Linux?
Logo Lock up of Enter ATMOSPHERE 2956 and Corsair as the presenting sponsor of the event.
We are proud to announce @corsair.comΒ as the Presenting Sponsor of Enter ATMOSPHERE 2956. π
On-site Pilot Test Stations will let attendees go hands-on with the new GALLEON 100 SD, pre-loaded with Star Citizen profiles.
Sydney, get ready for an experience! β¨οΈβ¨
You could also take any furniture you own and even buy some more in game and then create a pilot lounge/briefing area in your extra large hanger to do it that way you would have it set up the way you want.
Amazing work as always, sir!

History is being written into the 'verse! π
From community moment to canon, Enter ATMOSPHERE 2956 now lives in Star Citizen lore as a competitive event, commemorated with an in-game poster for every attendee in Sydney. π¦πΊΒ
This moment lives forever.β¨
Once the muscle memory kicks in, it will be second nature.
Cannot agree more, it has a crap ton of rough spots and things still to be added, and it absolutely feels like a frustrating alpha at times...
But that does not stop millions of people logging in every year to have a blast and make memories while it is being made.
That does not feel "failed" .
So my over 16,000 hours played since 2012 equals a failed kickstarter MMO?
Who would have thought in the last 30+ years of gaming I would have more total time played in a failed kickstarter MMO like Star Citizen then I have ever had in any of the thousands of released games and MMOs I have bought.
Wow, that must have been some hard work digging up a buried thread from 7 months ago...
None of us knows the full story for either side, or whether the whole thing will go belly up. It does not change the fact that the guy had a dream and chased it. The rest of it is a "wait and see" thing.
A bunch of Exelus members got together today in #StarCitizen like @digitalruins.fyi to work on the 4.6 "Clear the Air" event for a whopping 17.8 hours of fun and smack talk...
We voted NOT to join a mega group and do it on our own which allowed us to enjoy each other's company and have some laughs.
- Optionally, remove all expensive purchased/found components and weapons from your ships for a better chance of them copying across
You should do the above every patch to lessen the chance of losing items until LTP is rock solid.
- Make sure you sell all your cargo. All cargo boxes tend to disappear in the new patches
- If you've been mining make sure you sell all your refinery jobs
- Remove all items that you wish to keep from containers/armors
A few recommendations before #StarCitizen patch 4.6 drops:
- π§ Store unique equipped items and armor to prevent them from getting lost when the new patch arrives.
- π§ Make sure to claim all your ships. A ship marked as Destroyed will likely fail to copy across
Exelus is honored to be your surrogate family while the others are not playing and hope to either ally with them if they become active again or become your permanent family if they do not.
We absolutely LOVE you and the energy you bring!
Wish we had another 100 members just like you!!
That is amazingly well done!
Instantly recognizable.
- Starflight was 1986 and a good game
- Elite was 1984 and today's Elite: Dangerous is the 4th game in the series
- Wing Commander was 1990 and today's Star Citizen is a spiritual successor to the multitude of space games Chris Roberts made or had a hand in
They are not trying to be like Starflight
There is absolutely no experience like it in Star Citizen...
The starting line is getting close. π

I gladly welcome any and all journalists to write articles about Star Citizen. I do not even mind if some of them are critical...
What pisses me off is not doing proper research and writing an article full of misinformation just so they can generate clicks.
He is not around today, but I absolutely will and report back.
