One of the most unintuitive things I learned about Gen 3 Pokemon is that using the Bike, (mach or acro), actually DECREASES your encounter rate by 20%! This is great for RNG Manips via paint in R/S to lower noise, and bad for shiny hunters using bunny hops, since they get less encounters per hour.
