The bubble may burst, and a lot of companies may lose a lot of money, but the real productivity gains that have been kicking in over the last few months are real. AI isn't going anywhere.
I think it's unlikely. The amount of stories I've shipped and bugs I've fixed since Jan 1 is more than I did in the previous 4-5 months, and my velocity is increasing. Plus, the quality of my code is better, more test coverage, better accessibility, etc. This is a real transformation.
That combination of feeling like you have so little time, but that you could do so much incredible productive work during that time has its own weird pressure.
Being a software engineer these days is weird. It increasingly seems like I’ve got about 12 to 15 months before AI makes me obsolete. But also AI is going to help me ship more code in those 12 months than in the previous 20 years.
We are not ready for what’s already happening.
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social
I've made some updates to my teleprompter app. Check it out if you ever need something to help you read scripts for video:

A bsky post by Rob Delaney with just two words: "sex gifs"
When you accidentally use "post" instead of search.
What does this do?
You no longer see the your google discovery feed filled with X posts.
And you are using verbatim mode on gooogle which:
- Does an exact keyword search, without AI results at the top.
- This also seems to eliminate search ads as well
Step 2: Use this specific link in Safari on your iPhone or iPad:
www.google.com/webhp?tbs=li:1
Step 3: Create a shortcut to your home screen by pressing the share button -> Add to home screen
You may have realized that the google search app on your phone or tablet is broken. The discovery feed is likely be filled with links to X. And when you do search for something, the top of the results has AI results.
Here is how you fix both.
Step 1: Delete the google app
(there is more)

Every coworking space should have the equivalent of a quiet car. Every time I've tried to work in one, there are loud talkers and people taking calls.

I wonder when openclaw agents will orchestrate their first crypto pump and dump scheme.
The designer will never know how many lines of code I wrote to shift the image 1 pixel to the right and 1 pixel up. #webdev
“He was just a super nice guy, a super capable nurse,” Dimitri Drekonja, a doctor who knew and worked alongside Pretti, told Zeteo. “And we are in a worse place for him being killed.”
Alex Pretti was "an intensive care nurse at a Department of Veterans Affairs hospital who cared deeply about people... was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed getting in adventures with Joule, his beloved Catahoula Leopard dog... Pretti was a U.S. citizen, born in Illinois." apnews.com/article/immi...

This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.
"They died of seizure and heart failure, stroke, respiratory failure, tuberculosis or suicide... In some cases, their families and lawyers have alleged, they died of neglect, after repeatedly trying and failing to get medical care."
