Sebastien Chabal not remembering one minute of his rugby career is devastating news.
Yet another sign (if we needed it) that our game needs to change if it’s going to survive.

Haha put it this way, he won’t be wanting to watch this game back.
Referee has lost all control here.
That is a terrible decision.

Another one that has seemingly got away for the Scarlets.
Is it just the Welsh sides that can’t close out a game?
#SCAvSTO
Referee very keen to penalise at the breakdown.
x10 penalties awarded in the first 20 minutes.
Lions expertly targeting that area at the moment.
#CARvLIO
We need to clarify the rules.
How far back can you go to disallow a try?
#ITAvIRE
Well, that was something special.
Those Welsh boys stepped up to boys that were physically twice their size.
Immense effort. Was quite something to be there at a record-breaking Arms park tonight.

Aggrieved because that call is not applied consistently. See the above, or even Moana Pasifika’s try from yesterday.
All should have been over-ruled.
Feeling slightly aggrieved this morning with that Blair Murray wonder-score.
Have no problem with it being disallowed, but then want consistency.
Feels like the Officials often referee to the perceived standard of the player/team involved.
See this try by Dupont in 2024:

It’s impossible to enforce.
More just a complaint and, in my opinion, a representation of why the game is less exciting to the average watcher.
No problem with the try being disallowed. Just want consistency.
Even this weekend, see below the line break that saw Moana Pasifika score vs. the Hurricanes.
Agreed with all of this.
Not the reason Wales lost at all. They will need to be better than other teams in order to get a fair rub of the green from officials, but that is a consequence of their own performances. We have benefitted from this in the past so cannot complain.
Onwards and upwards!
There are still big problems, which I think the result doesn’t reflect.
We were second best in all areas bar lineout today.
But, love the heart of this team. Some absolute stars out there putting pride in the jersey.
It was brilliant. *He* was brilliant.
No objections, though. Just want consistency.
To be clear, you are not allowed to jump to avoid a tackle; in-play, or in the act of scoring a try.
No objections to Blair Murray’s try being over-ruled. However, can’t shake the feeling that if it was Dupont, it would’ve been given.
See Jonny May’s try below:
#SCOvWAL
That is a travesty. That rule is hardly ever referee’d.
Jonny May made a career out of that.
#SCOvWAL
I thought it was pretty obvious at the time.
Certainly worth looking as to how the ball travelled 3-4m forward.
Totally bewildered how this wasn’t looked at - phase before WG John yellow card, and Scotland’s try.
Jac Morgan asked referee to have a look for a knock-on. Ref said no.
#SCOvWAL
Both those Elliot Dee penalties went the wrong way.. ridiculous refereeing.
#SCOvWAL
No Princess Anne today. Thank God.
#SCOvWAL
Feels like a changing of the guard for Ireland today.
Healy, Murray, O’Mahoney all to retire.
However, a couple more look dead on their feet here.
#IREvFRA
Lucu is brilliant in his own right.
But nobody else to cover should anyone else be flagging in that back line.
Bet France are regretting that 7-1 bench split now…
#IREvFRA
I think it’s bad for the game in that it promotes negative rugby.
I don’t take the argument that just because every side can do it, it makes it a good rule.
France opting for a 7-1 bench split against Ireland.
May be controversial, but these forward - back splits are bad for rugby.
Rule should be 5-3 and that should be that.
#IREvFRA
Lots of technical issues out in Rome 😬
#ITAvFRA
Indeed. More wishful thinking than anything, I’m afraid.
To all the thousands of Irish fans who made the trip over this weekend: cheers, you were class.
Great singing, great craic, and you drank us dry of Guinness.
Hope you enjoyed, and realised that our Temple Bar is far superior to yours.
See you in Dublin.
#WALvIRE
Couldn’t agree more. Game is won and lost up front, but Edwards playing behind a pack that can get parity would be 👌🏼
Re-watching yesterday with a smile on my face.
What a win for Welsh Rugby in all aspects, bar the result.
Metres made, stars found, scrum unbelievable.
We want Anscombe on for 80 minutes next weekend I think. Kicking game the difference yesterday.
