The best part is: after you take and repurpose the fences, they put up more.

Using bike locks, expanding foam, paint, and a good old wrench, we also took on the vehicles and machines in the park that are turning the thriving wetland into an industrial wasteland.

Last night, we said no further. We dismantled fences to liberate walking paths, and sabotaged machinery to stop the destruction of St Fitticks Park. Using fences designed to lock out the community, we took them and repurposed them to build structures making vehicles access more difficult.

Torry is fighting back: our friends received legal advice that the land comprising St Fittick’s Park is held as part of the Lands of Torry Trust for the benefit of ‘education’ and the ‘poor’. This means that Aberdeen City Council may not use the land for commercial property. (3/4)

The Torry community are still fighting. Friends of St Fittick's Park are drawing up plans for legal action against Aberdeen City Council, and they say that given the legal advice received, they have a real chance of winning against council, big business and the fossil fuel lobby.

The "Energy Transition Zone" or ETZ is backed by oil billionaire Ian Woods. The label is used to explore carbon capture and storage designed to keep oil and gas running.

The side effects: a community loses their last accessible greenspace, St Fittick's Park, a beautiful #biodiversity hub.
