Oh, I think this is the winner
Tree peony seeds are supposed to be hard to germinate but I got a really good germination rate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Today after a 3 month cold stratification I potted them up. We’ll see if any actually grow #gardening
Went to the Pacific Northwest #bonsai museum to check out the spring plum blossoms and some old favorites
Nice! My maples buds are still swelling but haven’t opened yet
Do you have a western hemlock in your collection? It’s one of my favorite species
What an amazing collection. My collection is much much smaller and younger but also my sanctuary
Beautiful tree
My wife made a Japanese soufflé cheesecake!
This camellia tree has flowers that are mostly white with tiny streaks of red, and then this flower

Nailed it, look at that bubble structure
Did a walkabout around some greenway easement close to home and looking for potential trees to collect for pre #bonsai and found 5-6 Western Hemlocks!
It’s Detroit pizza night!
Randomly came across a group performing the Chinese Lion Dance!
Honestly, if you have a favorite Korean restaurant you might just ask them if you can buy some in bulk. I’ve done that before
I have a couple times but it’s never as good as what my local Asian grocery carries
Behold! And be jealous
Tonight is kimchi fried rice night and I couldn’t be more excited!
Ah gotcha, thanks for the info. The air layer was really well done. Tons of roots
Just curious why you air rooted it. The nabari looks great. Were you able to save the original tree?
Had fun repotting my Alberta Spruce. Totally surprised by the truck and root structure after removing 2 inches of soil. Probably too aggressive with root reduction so we’ll see if it survives, but that’s what $14 trees are for. I’ll leave it alone the rest of the year to see if it recovers. #bonsai
Potted up 3 Norway Maple trees I started from seed last year. This’ll be their home for the next 3 years.
Future #bonsai
