It's so not a traffic problem, it's a problem that takes in 30 years (at least) of planning or the absence of same, housing policy, and general development strategy and specifically transport policy.
/ my neighbour here in Leeds works at a hospital that's only about 5 miles away, but requires a bus into town and then another out. She walks. But at night, not something many people would want to do.
Yeah, I did check - doable in slightly less, but maybe if there were some suggestion in the article that a feeder bus from Rathangan to Kildare Station would deal with the worst bit of it, I'd take this more seriously as a report on transport.
No mention in the article of public transport alternatives. Which exist.
For many of us in cities, working and just getting by, this is most people we know; and those cities are the Labour core they are pissing away.
Not that long ago, attendances in Cork dwarfed all the Dublin teams. Even last year, in the Premier league, they weren't keeping up. The one team from the one city which should be able to compete with Dublin and Derry in terms of fan base, and they threw it all away over two decades.
