in general I have to say that Delta is a pretty good looking game on a technical level, better looking than MGSV even, but the original MGS3 still has it beat on art direction since its attempting to do a little more than just be "realistic" but still...deltas graphics arent ones to snooze at.
I do kind of like that the higher quality models in Delta make it easier to appreciate the characters making certain faces expressions, although in some cases they're noticeably less expressive albeit marginally compared to in the original.
Ngl playing MGS delta.....I can kinda see why Kojima had some reservations about hayters voice coming out of a more realistic looking Snake...granted all they had to do was just direct him to give a more grounded take akin to his voice in mgs1 but still lol.
Thing is the characters in last of us are meant to be more grounded and realistic than the way RE characters are portrayed in some games so this honestly seems like an unfair comparison.

The alternate timeline where studio deen or ufotable just did with Fate what passione and 8 - bit did with Nukitashi and Grisaia respectively where they just made *those* scenes ova specials on Blu-ray is the timeline I wanna live in.
