A large black Labrador with a long stick in it's mouth
On #NationalPetDay, this Very Good Girl would like to offer her support and best wishes to all the other pups out there whose humans fail to understand that sticks are a much better thing to collect than books.

As Amazon ie lands, a reminder that you can enjoy the convenience of online shopping & still support small local business.
Do local shops have a website? Are there small online businesses based in your area? Thereβs enormous local creativity within every community, but it needs your support.

Since itβs #WorldBookDay tomorrow, weβre curious - what was your favourite childhood read?
For me, Anne of Green Gables and The Dark Is Rising were ones I read so many times, Iβve lost count!

Agreed! I donβt know that area at all but the coastal location was brought to life beautifully and the dialogue just felt so authentic to the characters, subtly changing as they grew older and matured.

Read it recently too and it was wonderful! Loved the characters and the way they developed throughout the story.

Same! Itβs one of those ones where you get to the end but then keep turning it over in your mind to figure out what just happened.

Just finished Daphne du Maurierβs Frenchmanβs Creek and am about to dive into Butter. (The book, I mean. Not literally because that would be no way to start a Monday.)

Youβre probably right. Iβve been reluctant to block accounts that I donβt necessarily object to - but equally if they only post politics, follow tens of thousands of accounts and are in the US, theyβre probably not interested in engaging with a middle-aged bookseller near Belfast. Itβs exhausting!
