There's a saying in my culture that roughly translates to "A thief who steals from another thief gets a hundred years of forgiveness".
The forgiveness chart must be going gangbusters mad then, lol.

Funny how from the perspective of a teenager / early 20s, getting to your 50s and being dead is basically the same thing.
And then, life comes at you fast π«
Too bad "improving empathy and kindness among people" doesn't seem to move the needle on quarterly sales reports, apparently. π₯²
Today in things we should furiously copy from overseas π₯Ή

Thereβs a state of flow and peace you get from using real tools and paper that you donβt get with digital.
Computers absorb too much of our time these days. We gotta fight for our chance to embrace our βhappy accidentsβ as Bob Ross used to say. π¨
How I arrived on Bluesky:
May 16, 2023. Had to be patient enough to be handed down an invite code. Those were kind of scarce. But I think that helped shape this thing into *not* a clone of that ex-bird place. It's everything else what counts.
Also, how I got my exact date:
Ah sΓ, cuando el cuΓ±ao dice que flipa con las "caricaturas del FeisbΓΊ" y es... eso. π€¦π»ββοΈ

Omg like, are these losers 12 or what? My generation didnβt touch a computer until college and that never stopped us from picking up pencils, papers and do anything with them. Or using digital technology. The real artist will create with whatever sheβs got, even if itβs just sticks & stones.
Pugkachu stickers π Iβd so happily trade some of mine
All right first hi #kidlitchat and second I recently finished a graphic novel pitch for a special event on late April. Seriously hoping something comes up this time β itβs my second try at it and want to believe Iβve learned _something_ ever since. π€π»

A gathering of my local comics authors group at an equally geeky comics store, complete with Pikachu impersonator. Below, the usual troupe of freaks whose some of them also happen to be longtime meatspace friends of mine. / San Jose, Costa Rica, March 1, 2026.
So, this happened today - the local comics group Iβm part of gathered to deliver the third edition of a collective book.
Ours is often a solitary job and itβs great to gather in meatspace and not feel yourself alone against the world, specially in these times. Support your local freaks tribe. π€

Thing is, the only countries that could actually do something like that βChina, Europeβ are not interested to mess with like that β yet. The rest of us can only sit, watch and suffer through it like a passing kidney stone π₯²
An assortment of handmade stickers featuring my kid characters in various poses. The character stickers feature a qr code pointing to my own website. And the rest are Valentines spinoffs I decided to release for stock purposes.
So yeah everything is still terrible but I'm heading to an event of my local artists group tomorrow and decided to reprint my sets of silly stickers to see who's up for an exchange, or best yet sell them at $2 each. About 3.15" x 3.15". The poly paper base looks great on these.
Even me who put the learning on hold because reasons and havenβt gone beyond basic-basic Japanese so far can spot whatβs wrong here.
The nerve of those willing to move with scams like these.

Haha, go you! Iβm just finishing the pitch package thing that had me so tangled on and I definitely want to try my hand at Amelia and the gang for a change :)
I know itβs difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you canβt Do The Work when youβre starving.
"Artists peak at 30", "30 under 30", "by 30 you should" ridiculous. Arts industries capital craves young people to exploit and burn out. It doesn't want older artists thriving and guiding the young. It also doesn't want artists to exist. Stop letting cannibals tell you you only matter on a plate.
We're being sold the idea that each of us can βeh, shouldβ now do the work of 100 people, and charge accordingly (ha), using eyeaye.
What no one seems to ponder is: why?
There it is. Same as the JR pass for trains. Donβt get why they should reinvent the wheel for this particular case.
Either we cartoonists need to start assembling and submitting as teams of cartoonists, colorists, and letterers more often, or publishers need to have on staff dedicated colorists and letters. Graphic novels take so long and having to do every step as one artist is really burn out inducing.
Ngl Iβve thought long on how ai could actually be helpful for boring, repetitive tasks (flatting, generate backgrounds on my own style etc) BUT Iβm way too concerned about copyright/legal/environmental/other issues to just walk down that slippery slope. Many lads donβt even give it a 2nd thought.
Being a forever techie nerd guy I ended up on a middle of the road alternative some years ago: a NAS private server with Plex and tons of ripped movies... I use it for backups too. Just hope the hard drives keep going for some more time as all of this tech is becoming insanely scarce/expensive π³
