Hey board gamers - your feelings an opinions about games are being turned into slop.
There's a channel called Board Game Critique. All their videos are clearly made with AI. They fess up to this, but they claim that they write their own scripts.
I cannot definitively prove that they don't, but 1/x
They could have just made a review series about looking at user comments/reviews as an aggregate review rather than personal review. What's even the point of making a fake review series for board games? Other AI grifters are making actual money, and all they want is... free games? Likes? What?
Someday, I hope I can be like Ado and get out of my lonely dark closet...
Star Wars: Outer Rim, my play area. I loaded up with gear to satisfy my ship's goal, which also helped me with bounties. Great combo.

Before I forget, last weekend we played Star Wars: Outer Rim with some modules from the exp (not the ambitions). I'm amazed that even at 3p, and with Garindan (got him turn 1 or 2), being a bounty hunter is really slow if other players aren't turning over contacts. So much wandering...

I sleeve some games, and I sometimes have to stop and think, "I'm putting a piece of cardboard into a tiny plastic bag."
My sub-hobby is making games, I guess. I don't yet make enough for it to graduate from "hobby." Someday...
Games have an amazing way of showing you the hidden sides of people, good or bad. This kind of thing could be studied a lot more closely, and even highlight which games make better litmus tests of a player's psychology. Masks come off at surprising times!

This past weekend, we had a bonus gameday. I picked Vantage (my second play). I've been really enjoying how much the game opens up as you add cards to your grid; it's not just the list of options in your location. Feels like a hybrid of RPG and board game. I need to try solo.

Unfortunately, I'm the only one in the group into skirmish games. My brother and our friend are primarily Euro gamers.
Tiny Epic Game of Thrones. Main map. We had issues with the many rules shorthand around the player aids. Much of it was not very clear or omitted important things because it couldn't fit.
Tiny Epic Game of Thrones. My play area. These playmats are pretty bad. They're probably twice the size they need to be. You don't need a space to put your hero cards, and almost a 4th of the mat is the logos. The gold track is also redundant. To top it off, the text is really fuzzy.
Tiny Epic Game of Thrones. Play mat with the printed map. Glad we had this instead of the map cards, since some regions don't line up that well on the cards, but it's important to see what places are adjacent to each other.
Today, we tried Tiny Epic Game of Thrones (co-op). Tried, because the rules are a mess, and so many cards are confusing to try and play in co-op. We hadn't played before, either, so learning the base rules and co-op mode was difficult. We gave up after 2 hours. What a mess.

Wasteland Express Delivery Service. Mission cards. I completed 2 of the public ones and one personal one from a faction.
Wasteland Express Delivery Service. My player area. Never got to expand my truck, so had to drop a couple of upgrades to make room for others. Had 2 allies, but really only got use of the one that gave extra money for water deliveries. You can also see my personal mission from the job card I completed.
Wasteland Express Delivery Service. Main board. I won by 1 turn, with an opponent about to finish his last job the turn after me. I had to drive through radiation and a raider truck, too, and 2 damage would have forced me drop cargo and cost me the game. Luckily, I rolled no damage.
I seem to have forgotten to post last week's gameday. It was Wasteland Express Delivery Service. This was our second game. I enjoy it, but I don't love it. It's a lot of randomness for pick-up-and-deliver, but there's little interaction with the board. I wanted a little more adventure.

I've also been watching more movies lately. The only one I didn't like was Hanaoni/Battle of Demons (2009). Just could not handle the writing and directing. The big highlight for me is House (1977). Crazy fever dream of a movie, but so much fun. Kung-Fu was the best ❤️

Vale of Eternity with Artifacts, my tableau. Thelasa got returned to my hand at the end, so she wasn't pictured, but she was there as my 4 for the Succubus to score 10. I think I got about 26 points in the last turn, just crossing 80.

Last game was Vale of Eternity with Artifacts. We finally finished a game, but we were almost out of time. Artifacts definitely slows the game down since there's a lot more strategy each round. But the comboing is a lot stronger. Love getting these big 20–30 point turns.

Second game was Splendor Pokémon. Such a fun riff on Splendor. The few changes make the game way more fun for me. But my opponents kept taking the evolutions for my pokémon! Never got to venusaur. But I was happy with my gengar. Man, if there was a good Pokémon board game...

We're finally settling back into something resembling normal. Yesterday, we got 3 games played! First was London 2nd Edition. Great little card game from Martin Wallace. I kept drawing paupers and accumulating poverty without a good engine to get rid of it, so I didn't do very well.
