We aim to design our projects as sustainably as possible. But to be honest: for some project work, we still need to fly.
We support @TreesforAll every year to compensate the CO2 emissions from our flights through forestry projects. Trees for All is a charity with CBF accreditation.

Even the journey changed. The railway from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro is complete. What used to be a six-hour taxi drive is now a one-and-a-half-hour train ride. Infrastructure shapes collaboration too.

The Mindu Dam in Tanzania when full
The @WaterWorX programme grew from working with local utility MORUWASA to integrating a full water cycle approach with the Morogoro water authority. A big step towards more holistic water management.

A group of five people stand and sit on the edge of a runoff water collection basin in Burkina Faso. One man kneels near a pipe, letting water flow through his hands into the basin. The basinβs stone and earth walls are visible, and the water below is greenish from natural sediment. Behind them is a fenced area with dry vegetation and clear sunlight.
A rectangular runoff water collection basin filled with greenish water sits within a fenced area surrounded by trees and dry soil. The stone-lined walls of the basin and nearby sediment beds are visible. Two people stand near informational project signs in the background under a bright blue sky.
On a recent ECDD-GIRE visit with the Gourma Water Agency and the Bonsoagli Kilima Local Water Committee, we saw three new runoff water collection basins (BCER) in action. Even after a tough period for the region, the energy on the ground felt hopeful.
