You're invited to come listen to the soundtrack music I composed for the Quay Brothers' latest feature film 'Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass'.

There are three cues by Schnittke during the segments that had already been completed before I joined the Quays on the project nearly two decades ago in 2007. I never saw these segments nor heard how Schnittke's music had been used by the Quays until after the film was completed in 2024.
I'm happy that you enjoyed the film and appreciative of your kind words regarding its music. I must point out, though, that I had nothing at all to do with the Schnittke music appearing in the film. My score is completely separate and does not *ever* contain "fragments" of other peoples' work.
You probably already know that the Quays sort of DID a Tom Waits video. It was a collaboration between Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse) and Waits (with Waits on lead vocal)... youtu.be/CtQe7s7EZ-c?...
For RogerEbert.com, I reviewed Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass, the new film from stop-motion maestros Stephen and Timothy Quay.
Thank you for the insightful review. I composed the music for this film and your kind words made my day!
I think the Kool-Aid stains at the corners of your mouth are distracting and they draw attention away from your masterfully-applied eyeliner.
