Like a month and a half ago the sound on my laptop stopped working completely and nothing I did could fix it and it seemed like a hardware issue which I couldn't fix.

Yesterday my laptop crashed when I wasn't even touching it and when I restarted it the sound worked again

While I can't really speak for the pedigree of clowns, I DO know that the common depiction of orcs that we see to this day are derived from racist anti-irish political cartoons from the 1800s, so it's not like there's not precedent for this sort of thing slipping through the cracks

This feels apocryphal. Many clown tropes are taken directly from commedia dell'arte and the Auguste archetype has been common even in countries with no Irish population to "poke fun at".

It's obviously not to say they've never been framed as such, but I don't think it was intentional in the design

Some people have just gotten way too comfortable with consumption culture and that's why it's such an important message to put out there. It's not about purity, it's just about being mindful of what we consume & protecting the community aspect of fandom over just treating it as A Place To Buy Things

Zootopia isn't a problem for the fandom because the fandom has always taken from outside influence. If, however, Disney started buying booths at every furry con to sell Zootopia merch THAT would be problematic and should be rejected.

Like finding a Big Dog shirt or an Orangina advert appealing is one thing, but when hot topic starts dedicating space specifically to AI-generated furry-bait with furry-specific slogans that is an intentional attempt to barge their way into our niche and outcompete creators and should be rejected.

The importance of the sentiment is that corporations remain an *outside* influence on the fandom and not weasel their way into fandom spaces and bully out the small creators that actually drive the culture in the same way they have destroyed and replaced mom and pop businesses.

BOOO, tried to complete Veronica's quest & the paladins just eviscerated me with that gatling laser. Went from ~140 to 4hp in the time it took to throw a plasma grenade

Well that's the 3rd attempt so I will unfortunately have to declare this challenge a failure for now! Got farther than I expected!
