Ugh, been awake from midnight to 6am...this sucks big time

Any advice or info from anyone (UK based) who went through the Right to Choose process for ADHD? OFC I'm struggling to get started...

I’ve only just heard the sad news that Jonathan Telfer, former editor of Writing Magazine, passed away in December. He was a genuinely lovely person. Such a joy to work with and to chat to. Absolutely gutted.

2/3 I only managed 1,578.87 km or 981.06 miles. I think in 2026 I'll set myself the slightly easier goal of ‘Land's End to John o' Groats’ (around 1,200 miles or 1,900km). Goals don't always work out as you expect them to! Limitations can be a good thing!

1/3 My 2025 walking challenge didn't go as expected...or it did if you're a pessimist! I wanted to walk the distance from ‘The Shire to Mount Doom’ (around 2,897 km or 1,800 mi) as EXTRA walking (no nipping to shops or school run), but after a year of INTERFERENCE and LIFE STUFF

Out on a lovely evening walk and got an inkling it's going to snow tomorrow. The inkling being a shotgun scatter of grit to the back of my legs from a passing gritting lorry...ouch!

Remember, if a present under the tree this year says it's from S.C, it's from me, not that other fat jolly man.

To clarify my last post, those are payments from the "nice" publishing people, who don't just expect you to write stuff for exposure...gee thanks! I will never be this cheap :p

£15 for 7,000 words, £2.44 for 5,000 words, £7.50 for 6,000 words...I'm at a loss for (very cheap) words.

Is anyone on any decent writing forums anymore? I used to be on Writing Magazine's TalkBack, many moons ago, but I don't know if it exists at the moment (it could just be down due to the current internet fuckery)

Trying real hard to just scan the 'payment' info and not the 'theme' of anthologies, lest I be tempted to follow up on an intriguing idea with only a 'contributor's copy' and fiver to show for it.

From not writing in years to a 2,000 word story submitted to a library competition, a 4,000 word story almost ready to be submitted to an antho, and a 2,000 word magazine competition entry WIP...nae bad!
