Few local creatures stop me in my tracks like this, just the sheer size and soft colors and markings. Like, welp, day instantly better.
While out with my class yesterday, I had to ask the kids to stay closer than usual and listen for the whistle… we saw one of the local coyotes far across the baseball field, watched it pass behind the diamond.
Leaving school, I came out to see the pair frolic right outside my classroom door.
