What did they find? 🤔
In 650 Anesthesiologists, self-reported knowledge of placebo effects was moderate, & lower for nocebo effects!
They integrate expectation-based interventions, but gaps in theoretical knowledge & deliberate systematic application remain, particularly regarding nocebo effects.

This study found that visceral pain is more sensitive to negative expectations and nocebo effects than somatic pain. Bad experiences with somatic pain treatments can worsen visceral pain through a "cross-over" effect. 🤯
