GOD OF WAR (2018)
A very good game in the Sony Cinematic House Style. The action is strong, even if the encounter design doesn't quite match up to it, but the boss fights that mix gameplay and cutscenes were a real standout. Definitely had some pacing issues, but I appreciated the more mature tone
This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM
Combines the best of third person action RE with the best of first person horror RE, creating a celebration of the series' history. While it does revel in nostalgia a bit too much at times, the twists to zombies and clever level design make this one another hit for the series

SCARLET HOLLOW (CHAPTER 1-5)
It should be no surprise that that devs behind Slay the Princess have another banger visual novel. Scarlet Hollow not only has an incredible narrative filled with well rounded characters, but also has a staggering amount of branching paths based on meaningful choices
Amazing visual novel that you should definitely check out. Even though it's not "finished" yet, there's so much content here because of the stunning amount of branching paths.
ANATOMY
This is so completely Up My Alley that I'm disappointed it took me this long play it. One of the all-time scariest games I've ever played, terrifying on both an intellectual level and a primal, lizard brain reaction. Some wonderful quotes in this game that will live under my skin forever.
REANIMAL
A gorgeous, moody game that's a little bit light on gameplay/puzzles for my tastes. The amazing lighting and cinematography made me want a little more mechanical depth and left me a little unsatisfied narratively by the end. Still, you can't beat that atmosphere, and the chase scenes rule.
Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen gives you a first look at Dylan Faden's supernatural abilities, the shapeshifting Aberrant weapon and Manhattan warped beyond the laws of physics.

CARMAGEDDON: ROGUE SHIFT
Look, I know it's not traditional Carmageddon, but if you take it for what it is you'll have a lot of fun. Needs a little more variety to be a truly sticky roguelite, but the moment to moment car crashing carnage feels great and is worth checking out.
ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN
A boldly stylistic game that backs up its wild vibes with rock solid combat. The story doesn't always work for me, but I have to respect that it doesn't ever play it safe. Definitely not for everyone, but it gets a recommendation from me for its commitment to a singular vision.
INSULINDIAN PHASMID - I am at the end of a narrow funnel. Weightless. So light it only feels like *something* to be me. In truth -- perhaps I'm nothing? I certainly do not have a soul. And if I did, it would never ache.

I HATE THIS PLACE
I was a big fan of the comic it's based on, but man, this fell short of my expectations. Has the basis for something solid, but a myriad of technical and design issues get in the way of the fun at almost every step.
