r/analytics • IOh We just found out our AI has been making up analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna throw up. Support So we've been using an Al agent since November to answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations, everyone loved it. I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this entire time. Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing plausible sounding percentages. I only caught it by accident when someone asked me to double check something. I started digging, and holy shit, it's bad.
lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard
The two buttons meme where one option is pay a bit of money for art and the other is invalidate your entire creative work by using the slop machine. The person choosing is indie game devs
Indie game devs, when you use the slop machine in your game, it makes it clear to players that you don't give a fuck and just want money.
Draw crappy but genuine art instead.
Person: say, i am alive. Computer: I am alive. Person: oh my god.
Although I've mostly moved to Godot now, when I was using Unity I definitely noticed shader differences between Windows and other platforms. I dev on Linux and macOS and they seemed to be fairly similar, but then I'd test on Windows and it would be different, especially browsers.
Yea I was kind of thinking of the Prometheus. I was imagining like the wings could go off on school trips for a certain class (this might require them looking different). It’s a kinda half baked idea as any other more powerful feature like time travel or wide scale transport kind of breaks canon.
I’d love to see they go harder on the tech being different. Like the detached wings have another purpose beyond making the ship go to warp. They could change configuration around the center part to do something else, or they can move around on their own to defend the ship, etc.

Fuck AI.

Twitter is the world’s largest generator of CSAM & non-consensual porn by a margin of about 8000%, and somehow… MSM isn’t even reporting on it.
(also includes advice for reporting ‘deepfake harassment’ to police if it escalates to a point where restraining order is necessary)

I cannot stress this enough: this is not possible
in a literal technological sense: you cannot train an AI and expect even comprehensible results with under ~1 million pieces of data, nobody can supply all that with the variance needed. You can only achieve it through wanton scraping
Thank you to all the incredible ANZ-based developers who took part in our first Frosty Mini showcase today, and shared such wonderful announcements!
What a beautiful line-up 👏🏼
Big hugs from us! I’m very sorry to hear! Hope you’re both doing okay! ❤️
Decided to provide source for the game I’m currently working on. Mostly because I’ve decided that I want to move on from it soon but I also get a lot out of open source software and I want to pass on that in some way.

EA Partnering with Stability AI is not only an insult to the creative industries but an insult to every single person they've laid off in recent years.
Games are nothing without the people who make them. Disgusting.

Very much looking forward to playing this soon!
I can't believe my boy Johnson is finally back. Once Upon a Katamari is peak. My review:

Frosty is ready for summer 😎 We're excited to reveal the new look for our December show!
Frosty Mini will be a shorter showcase (compared to Frosty Games Fest in June), but it will still be packed with some of the coolest games made in Australia & Aotearoa, and a chocka-block Steam event to boot 🎮
Good luck Ben! You’ve got this!
I can't prove this, but in my opinion whatever the original prompt is always worth (relatively) more than what the gen AI creates. At least in the areas you're talking about with the mass market uses.

I've seen this screenshot doing the rounds but....I am actually kind of interested to see if the error can be reproduced.
Does anyone have access to Copilot in Excel? Willing to try reproducing this?
Amazing and makes sense. I've attempted to create interiors for much smaller space ships and it was a lot of work even for something the size of a bus. I've only really used collections for handling entire objects, not many different individual pieces of a single object. I'll keep that in mind.
That's very cool! Are you using any addons to make this work easier? Or is it vanilla Blender features?
🚨 Just one day left to submit for Frosty's Dec event! 🚨

Finally got around to wrapping up some small learning projects about ray-marched SDFs. As usual it feels right to make a video about them because they look better in motion, but here are the GitHub links as well:

Incredible clip of tech CEOs fawning over Donald Trump. Someone store this clip in the underground archive vault
Thank you! I never played Chaos Engine, but I like the look of it. Yea it’s still got an issue on desktop where it can (but not always) take a weirdly long time to compile the shader that only happens in the web version.
My wishful thinking is that for 3rd party licenses it would force them to have to create offline/end-of-life versions. Making it that it's unsustainable for those 3rd parties to not have way to handle EOL, otherwise devs aren't going to be able to use them.
